I was very impressed with him on the first drive and believe he shouldn't have
    been pulled.
IMHO...You go with whichever player is hot.

Having said that before I get attacked for questioning the coaches decision.
Coaches are only human and make mistakes from time to time.
I will be eternally grateful til the day I die to Nick Saban and the rest of the coaches for not just last year but for The Nick Saban era.

We lost a tough game today but hey It's never been better to be a Tiger.
I could barely watch the games and wanted to run and hide Dinardo's last
    year.

Remember what happened after we lost last year?
We were counted out and thats when Nick and company did their best work.

I'm not saying we will do the same this year but I think the players have been
somewhat complacient and I'm not totally sure they have been listening to the coaches by the way they played against OSU and Auburn.
I thought the intensity just wasn't there for 60 minutes in these 2 games.

The bright side is its only 1 loss so maybe the players will show more intensity now that they have a loss.

I agree. Randall has looked really good the last two weeks, and it's just sad that so many refuse to give him the credit he deserves. In fact, had he stayed in today, and been able to scramble and run on some of Russell's drives, the story may have ended differently.

It's not the end of the world. In fact, it's not even the end of the season. Some are calling for JR to play and Randall to be benched just so he can get experience for next year. I can't believe that people are so willing to throw away a season after 3 games. Fairweather doesn't even describe that. Randall drove for our only TD today, and that's just how it is. Russell should still play some too, but calling for Randall to be a bench warmer after the last two games is just ignorant.

randall deserves alot of credit for the way he played today. russell is talented but too green to lead the team this year. i have been very impressed with marcus spears and some of our other dlinemen. they are fast!

I obviously was not watching the same game you all were watching. To say Randall played good today is ludicious. The first drive was nice, but after that it was dog pooh. He costs us two scoring opportunities - the fumble at mid-field, the sack that took us out of a fieldgoal opportunity and the delay of game coupled with the personal foul on the same play. Randall has yet to complete a bubble screen. He is 0 for 3. When Randall is in the game, the playbook goes from being 50 pages to 10 pages. It is quite obvious the coaches do not have the confidence in him to throw the ball downfield.

Two Critcial miss opportunities at scoring:

1-10-LSU27 (12:59) Alley Broussard rushed for 14 yards.
1-10-LSU41 (12:52) Marcus Randall rushed for 3 yards.
2-7-LSU44 (12:06) Marcus Randall passed incomplete to Dwayne Bowe.
3-7-LSU44 (11:58) Stanley McClover sacked Marcus Randall for a loss of 3 yards. Tommy Jackson recovered a fumble from Marcus Randall and returned it for -2 yards.

1-10-LSU5 (9:49) Alley Broussard rushed for 4 yards.
2-6-LSU9 (9:09) Alley Broussard rushed for 6 yards.
1-10-LSU15 (8:41) Alley Broussard rushed for 39 yards.
1-10-AUB46 (8:36) Justin Vincent rushed for 5 yards.
2-5-AUB41 (7:56) Justin Vincent rushed for 2 yards.
3-3-AUB39 (7:11) Marcus Randall rushed for 4 yards.
1-10-AUB35 (7:05) Alley Broussard rushed for 3 yards.
    2-7-AUB32 (6:23) Marcus Randall lost 1 yard.
3-8-AUB33 (5:36) LSU was penalized 10 yards. LSU was penalized 15 yards.
3-32-LSU42 (5:05) Bret Eddins sacked Marcus Randall for a loss of 5 yards.

I am a JR guy but I think you are being to critical on MR.
He did fumble on that one drive but all players at one time or another
fumbles the ball or throws a pick.
JR will do this sometime in his career.

That first drive is what we were looking for but neither QB has been consistant enough to be the starter.
Sorry, if I remember right, Marcus had more success in this game than
    JR.

I think this is why we have to have a 2 QB system, If one of the guys gets
hot you ride that train for all you can get.

btw, You did notice he held on to the ball when he got broadsided by an AU
    defenseman?
We were lucky as alot of QB's fumble in that situation.

    JMHO :)

Actually the critical mistake was made in pulling Randall in the first place. YOU NEVER PULL A QB when he just scored a GO AHEAD or TD on the FIRST DRIVE. You wait till he screws up. And he might have but we'll never know. Just the act of pulling him could have shot holes in whatever momentum and consistancy he had on the first drive. BAD COACHING MOVE. Watch the NFL people. Hey Saban made a Mistake. He's the best coach in the NCAA but no one is perfect.

I'd say the same thing if it was Jamarcus, in football you ride the good horse or the hot hand till it quits. simple enough. YOU DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN A MEDIA/ FAN created double QB contreversey on "who is better" :dis: :dis: :dis:

hell thats the freakin million dollar question.

Could be worse, look at :eek:lefire: they are wrapped up in a QB contrversy as well BUT they are 1-2, barely got by the commodores. At least We have a team to go around out 2 hapless QB's

I personally don't see this as some of you do, all bubbly over this QB or that. :dis:

Your like a bunch of prom girls.... Oh did you see jamarcus? tee hee oh no wait did you see Marcus?? giggle giggle.

Hey we need a QB they both stink it up equally and neiter one has emerged as a leader. anotherwords they SUCK EQUALLY. :cuss: :cuss:

go ahead and flame me if you want, just callin it like I see it.

BTW yes i support them both and hope one starts to play GREAT ball soon.
I cant really say it was a great Auburn Defense that did it. Certianly they were better than we've faced thus far, but the LSU offense with all the talent we have at WR and we do, we're loaded. WE NEED A DAHM QB.
    sheesh already. :angryfire

Then the coaches need to get more confidence in him. I've seen Randall get pretty accurate at times. I believe he can read the defense a lot better than Russell. Russell may be the leader in accuracy, but he does not have it....yet. The OL looked pretty darn confident w/ Randall behind them. Once he was taken out, the blocking started to go downfield. Why let the playbook go down to 10 pages? Hell.....give him the chance to light the field up!

Randall's pass on the fake run to the left and rollout to the right play where he missed a WIDE OPEN tight end receiver by throwing it 3 yards BEHIND him.......that tells you all you need to know

I bet they practiced that very same play about 20 times this past week.

Bottom line, a dropped pass by an inexperienced Doucet ended what very well may have been a great storybook ending of a freshman QB making plays in the clutch and leading us to an improbable victory.

Early, keep your head up. There will be plenty of better days for you young man.
