Will, New Orleans, LA: Kirk, Do you feel that USC has played quality oponents like LSU has? If not, why aren't the Tigers ranked higher in the human polls with 11 wins? Who do you think is better? Kirk Herbstreit: (3:20 PM ET ) I think USC is better. But that's purely subjective. Unfortunately we will never know the answer. The reason I say that is USC is a more complete team on both sides of the ball. Don't get me wrong. I love this LSU team and they have continued to get better and better as the year has gone on, esp. on offense. But you are asking me which team I feel is better and in my opinion, it's USC. Kirk Herbstreit: (3:22 PM ET ) The whole debate about USC's schedule in comparison to LSU's schedule is a moot point. It would be one thing if USC was just getting by games against a poor schedule, but they have been dismantling teams all year long. Again, that's not to take anything away from LSU winning 11 games in the SEC which is a difficult thing to do. I'd give the edge to USC. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This guy is just so full of it! Can't wait to here his remarks on final gameday. :geaux: :geaux: :lsug:
and he calls himself a football reporter or what ever he calls himself. I think ESPN has been told to PIMP USC, The pac 10 has not been to a bcs champ game. If they go it makes the BCS look like it works..

He, obviously, doesn't realize that LSU's average margin of victory is larger than USC's! Someone ought to tell him.
I didn't think it was too bad. He gives LSU credit and made it clear that it was just his opinion that USC is better. Compare to Jim Rome, who made a comment along the lines of USC would wipe the field with LSU.
Here's what I thimk with regards to why Herbstreit talks up the Trojans. You would think being an ESPN dude and with ESPN doing a ton of LSU and SEC games he would be more for the Tigers. Well, I think it is as simple as this...doesn't ABC either own or are at least partners with ESPN now and ABC is airing the National Championship game. I think the high uppers at ABC are putting the pressure on the Ohio geek to pimp up USC so they can have theri beloved S. Cal team in the Championship. Someone ought to tell S. Cal fans there is a game Saturday in L.A. that has National Championship implications. They are only expecting between 65-70,000 for the game in a stadium that holds over 100K...
