I have never had so many people talk to me about LSU football since the 1 point loss. I had voice messages, emails even my neighbors come bust my chops about the loss. I saw on Aunation.net (Which has several cool and several douche bag posters, but generally pretty cool people) where they are asking for pictures of the scoreboard. I never recall us posting pictures of the scoreboard in ANY game last year except 2. 2 Championships. To people I know its like a Giant was killed. I dont know, I can never remember a time when beating LSU was as big a deal as it is to people and rival fans. Personally I think its pretty cool LSU has a program that everyone wants to beat. A program where other schools cheer its failure because it makes them feel better about their program. Ironically the only people who said something nice were OU fans. Even the arrival of idiotic USC fans showed LSU gets national attention and when they lose it appears to be a big deal. Losing sucks, but this loss showed me how LSU is viewed outside of our state and to other schools. People love to tear down winners. 5 years ago if we had lost no once cared. Now when LSU loses its a train of Rival fans coming here and insulting us, or rival boards insulting our state and our heritage, and the left coast fans coming here running their mouths.

I see what you are saying but since when was it not monumental to beat the defending national champs, especially in such hard fought game like Saturday's?
True Aunama1 true I guess. But as a Tiger Fan I never had so many people care about our team losing. You know me on WEN, I hold no grudge against Auburn and I like many of the fans there, this is not an Auburn thing. Its a national thing, I mean I heard from people I have heard from in literally years leaving my emails and voice messages..... I guess a loss sucks but to see the fervor this lost caused has shown me LSU has arrived, hell there was even an article in the Dallas Morning news today about this very loss. In Dallas its all big 12, almost a half a page. None of it was about Auburn winning, it was about LSU losing. Like I said I tip my hat to Auburn, I am not bashing Auburn, I am saying its amazing the reaction elsewhere.
I always knew we were superior to everyone else now they are all just over here to prove it to us. I say let them have their moment we will see who's talkin smack at the end of the season :geaux:
We had the same thing in our Sunday LA times. It had a huge picture and about a half page article (in the college section). There was also a huge article on the OREst/LSU game in the paper following the game.
