Does anybody remember late in the game Jackson was talking about the National Championship and the History Books? I missed it can somebody help?
I can't quote him, it's already been to long for me to remember word for word, but I believe he said in the history books it will say the winner of the Sugar Bowl is national champion, but...
he said Sugar Bowl champion goes down in the history books as the national champion. He was insinuating that is an injustice in his opinion. I wonder if he had crapped his daiper a couple of minutes before he said that.....
Some ABC guy back in the truck was probably yelling at him to say that after all the bull he was talking.
Thats what I thought but I was in the kitchen when he said it and when I got back in the living room he started in on his bias opinion so I was not sure. Thanks guys
I think he was defending the BCS with the comment. He said that the coaches and schools agreed that the BCS champ would go down as such in the history books. He also mentioned something to the coaches "living up to their agreement" concerning the final coaches poll. Dan Foust was talking up USC as the NCs and it seemed to me that Jackson was trying to give the otherside of the argument.
I really like the way he said it. Slow and with many pauses, almost sarcastically. You could tell he didn't want to say it.
Jackson said that USC will probably be the AP/Coach's Poll champ--and the winner of the Sugar Bowl will be the computer champion but that it will all be meaningless because the history books will recognize the Sugar Bowl winner.
