These two former Tiger standouts will be playing the Saints tonight. I know everyone on this board will root for the Saints to fall but not me. Jim Has-been sucks and I hope this is his last year but I doubt it. Maybe the Saints will put up some points and Henderson will get some reps.
The Saints have a history of playing to the level of competition they face. Personally I have given up trying to figure this team out and refuse to invest any of my emotions in them, good or bad.
Udeze, the Rookie out of USC just sacked Aaron Brooks - He finally gets to play in the Superdome 10 months later than originally planned...
In all honesty if the Saints were a good team they really should be winning some games. I was happy that they competed and kept this one close for the most part (on the score board at least.) I have nothing at all against Hasslett and the accountant/G.M. but I think they are in over their head. I am hoping for a change...soon.
Haslett is supposed to be a defensive minded coach but every year the Saints have the same problems on D. They cannot stop the run every year, this year they are having trouble stopping the run and the pass. They set records for allowing over 20 points like in 15 straight games in 2002. They know where their weaknesses are but can't fix them, every year. I don't think these guys are good judges of talent either, they won with other guys players their first year and then keeping getting worse or staying the same. A poor football team and poor coaches.
The problem is at the G.M. position. You need a good talent evaluator at that position and Mickey Loomis is just not that. Finks was great at evaluating talent and so was Mueller. I would really like to know exactly what the circumstances surrounding his firing were, as I think it is VERY strange he hasn't gotten a job yet; especially with the recent openings with clubs such as Atlanta.
For a team with the payroll the Saints have the product they put out on the field is terrible. Suzie Colber even said that the Saints lockerroom seems to be in chaos. Mickey Loomis is not a GM and Haslett let his potential as a head coach slip away after the first year when he started this coddling of players. They have no leadership and it's a group of individuals and not a team effort. The big problem is Tom Benson - he settles for this mediocrity all the while holding the state hostage with his threats to move the team. I'm a big Saints fan and do not want to see them go, but it's awfully hard to defend them with this product on the field week after crappy week. Benson made his millions by being a shrewd businessman and car dealer, well he would've s---canned his sales people a long time ago if they would've come in with mediocre results like this. I'm one who likes continuity but Loomis and the entire coaching staff needs to be shown the door. Need to bring in a Parcell's, Tom Coghlan like coach who is a no-nonsense type of guy who will weed out the bad apples no matter what their salary might be.
I agree. If Benson thinks he can get a better deal in Mississippi then good luck. I am so tired of this wait till next year crap. I did not waste my time last night watching what I feel like is a sinking ship. I also see that the Hornets owner is trying some of the same threats as Benson is. Spend the money on something worthwhile other than mediocre sports teams.
