will any of our present all star wr come close to leaving the mark on lsu football that these guys did? i dont see it because all three of them were a threat to opposing teams at anytime by sophomore years.

Depends. Will we get a new WR coach...? As of right now, it doesn't appear so. With that in mind, I'd have to say no.

I don't see it, but I hold out hope for Early Doucet because he's a great athlete and is still learning the position.

Let's see if he makes a jump in 2006.

Agreed. He's probably the one with the most potential.

..but if DBowe can cut down on some of his drops, etc., he's certainly got the body/frame to make a real good pro receiver as well.

That would have to be one helluva jump.

I'm sorry, but given the hype about him coming out of HS, Early Doucet has been a complete bust so far. And now, coming off a knee injury, I wouldn't count on things getting any better.

Well, Early never played WR in highschool - he played QB, so I think some growing pains were to be expected. And he has done way more than X. Carter so far, even though they were about equally recruited.

I don't think Early was any more dissapointing than any of our other receivers. I mean, you can't judge him alone & say he had a dissapointing season when basically every one of them did. Buster Davis has been our only solid receiver & he was injured some through the season.

Wide Receivers has to be one the main concerns going into 2006. Not a concern in that, "will they be okay" kinda way, because we already know that they are decent. But a "will they even begin to touch their potential" concern. I haven't read anything about it, but I hope Miles is feeling a bit of pressure to make sure they progress a lot during the Spring.

How bad is Early's knee injury supposed to be? I knew he was injured, but was under the impression that he would be fine for Spring.

Well, the positive side of that is that he still has 2 more seasons to prove himself.

Early doesn't have a knee injury. He twisted his ankle when he came down trying to catch that pass. He is fine & will be ready for spring ball.

Even though we have never seen him in our uniform...

Brandon LaFell can potentially be the next Randy Moss...

JV and I talked about this just the other day, and this kid is a beast!

P.S. I mean JV on this forum, not the MVP JV, so you can hold off your jokes.

I wouldn't mind having Benny Brazelle back for another year.
