Justin Vincent's run... Last night on I saw a head-on shot of Justin Vincent's 2nd long run. The move he put on those guys was fantastic. The announcers had said, "missed tackles", but NONE of them had a clear shot at him. As Saban said...GREAT RUN.
After watching the second run several times, I would say the next Emmitt Smith may have appeared. Good eyes, great balance, surprising power for his size and enough speed. One of the all time great LSU runs from scrimmage.
The Ben Wilkerson block was on the first run, and blocking would absolutely have to be credited there. I dont know about the second one, though. Vincent didnt get a lot of help on that run, he just simply made people miss. I am very excited about him. He is for real.
On the 2nd one he would've gone all the way had Devrey or Clayton (can't remember which it was) had gotten in his way. He also shouldn't of cut to the outside at the end of that run, if he had kept going on the inside it would've been a TD.
From the first time I saw Justin Vincent play in the Arizona game I was impressed with his instinctiveness. He seems to have that uncoachable sixth sense that makes a good back great. The second long run against Georgia was one of those jaw-dropping runs that one might see once every two years. Looking forward to more.
Re: Justin Vincent's run... C,mon ... that STIFF ARM he put on Sean Jones ..... classic you remember BufordDAWG and the rest of 'em in here crowing before the game about having the best safety tandem in America. So much for Mr. Sean Jones ... as best safety in the SEC ... but we'll have to hear how good he is again next year ... his last
It's a shame they don't show that head-on shot of the 2nd run more. In the TV game-shot it just looks like Vincent's running through a crowd and you can't exactly pick out how he's getting through, but in the head-on shot you can see him making 2 or 3 super-quick cuts/jukes in a 5 yard span that gets him clear. Really spectacular! Another thing: about the LSU running backs--the more I see Alley Broussard the more impressive he looks. On one play, only a short gain, he literally carried a Ga. player on his back and they barely got him down.
