Can anyone help me out with finding a nice/clean/respectable restaurant? It could be of any variety. Cajun / Steak / Seafood / Italian ....anything. I just want to get out and try something new without having to drive into Baton Rouge. ...any suggestions?

I had a very good steak at Lagniappe in Watson (not the same as Louisiana Lagniappe in Destin/Baton Rouge). Val's and Red's down in Maurepas both have excellent seafood. I've been to Fernando's once and it was horrible, for Mexican you would be better off at Las Palmas on O'Neal (other's think very highly of the place, maybe my visit was a fluke). There's a DeAngelos in Denham Springs, always good. Lafluer's is OK. Linda's in Watson has very good sandwiches/fast food. I've heard that Kevin's on La 22 in French Settlement has decent seafood. There's a good Bar-B-Q place in Livingston on La 63, north of I-12, but I can't recall the name.

I've heard someone mention Raising Cane's on here a while back and seem to remember it being in a good light but not sure.

You haven't been to Canes? It was founded by LSU grads. They have one in LaPlace now. They also put one on Williams Blvd in Kenner between Vets and Esplanade. They are growing big time.

I remember eating at the one on North campus when it was the only one. And that wasn't long ago. Amazing how they have been so popular.

As my Livingston parish buddies used to say, and I repeat in good fun, "Welcome to Livingston Parish. Remember to set your clock back 30 years." :hihi:
