Ok, each and every year Saban holds us in suspense wondering if he is gonna bolt or stay. This talk usually happens around recruiting time. Could this really be Saban's emmense interest in the NFL or a clever scheme to help his recruiting that seems to be working. Each year a coach or two is mentioned on ESPN and on the internet about maybe making a move, but Saban is an anual fix for that publicity. Think about it, it's free press for Saban, almost like free advertising. What is the most popular name on the collegiate level these days? Saban. Due in part to ESPN constantly mentioning his name about possible jobs. Recruits see this and Saban becomese like a star, being mentioned and shown on ESPN. They say to themselves if the NFL wants him this badly, I must be quite special if Saban is trying hard to get me to play for him. What recruit wouldn't want to play for a coach that is being offered whatever he wants by an NFL team. Saban may see this is the best way to get that out to his potential recruits. It's kinda like when a music artist is about to release a CD, he/she does something outrageous so as to get free media publicity (See Janet Jackson). Saban is selling himself to his recruits through the media. He's pimpin the media. These days it seems like everything is a popularity contest, what better way to make yourself more known than to create news for yourself. This may be all just a game for Saban. This may be all part of his master plan and he may have never planned on leaving in the first place. How do I know all this, you ask? Great minds think alike. :thumb:
I did have beans last night so it kinda does unfortunately. Some of us are long winded in diffferent ways though.
