Going to Florida and need something to sip on while on the beach. So does anyone have a GOOD Jungle Juice or whatever you want to call it recipe.
When I want something "beachy", I'll make a Tom Collins or some Rum Punch. True frathouse Jungle Juice, I can't advise. In college I worked nights in a liquor store and the frat boys would come in regularly (legal age 18) to make "jungle juice". I don't know their exact recipe and I don't want to, but they would first buy a new plastic garbage can at the Food Town next door and then they would come into the liquor store and buy 2 bottles of Everclear, half gallons of bourbon, rum, tequilla and brandy, then a case of cheap sangria. I have a friend who makes these deadly Bloody Mary's with 100-proof vodka, unsweetened unflavored German schnapps, and three pepper sauces with some other secret ingredients. He always pours you two and says you must drink the second one immediately or the first is mortal.
Do you remember a bottled drink called Purple Passion-----made by Everclear with Everclear in it? It was in a plastic bottle like a 2-liter Coke now.......we used to bring that stuff for the ladies. Couple drinks of that and they were nude.
Here's what I fashionably made for the Arizona State game. It involved Hawaiin Punch, Sprite, Rum, Vodka, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice. I named it Katrina Flood Water. I can't really tell you proportions because it was made in a 10-gallon cooler. Tasted damn good though. Lately I've been fooling around with Tom Collins' recipes. Basically that means substituting ingredients I don't have with something similar. Sweet and Sour, Sprite, Grenadine, and gin. I honestly don't know how other people make it.
Katrina Flood waters sounds intersting. I do like the Idea of the Rum Punch. Your right the Frat house JJ is a bit much.
Here is the formula we used in college, this was to make 30 gallons so adjust accordingly. Purchase enough Tropical Punch Kool Aid to make 30 gallons 1/2 gallon Gin 1 gallon Vodka 4 liters of Everclear QS with water to 30 gallons half dozen each of oranges, lemons and limes Enjoy!!!
A good Tom Collins: 2 oz gin (sometimes I use vodka) 1 oz lemon juice 1 tsp superfine sugar 1 oz Grenadine 3 oz club soda 1 maraschino cherry and 1 slice orange for those so inclined, I blow them off.
Dude, what kind of guy drinks jungle juice on the beach? Jungle Juice is made soley for the purpose of getting hot girls drunk, and possibly drinking only if the men run out of beer & are in desperate need of a drink. For beach drinking the best things are: Daquiri's to get things going in the morning. Coronas or Dos Equis (with lime of course) for down on the beach. Margaritas for evening drinking. And then whatever your favorite mixed drink may be, rum & coke for instance, for the night. No Jungle Juice! Unless you are bringing it down to the beach for the chicks.

Been drinking beer on the beach for over 20 years. Don't feel like drinking it fast before it get hot's and want to make it a little tropical vacation while in Destin. Rum Punch is the answer.
