JP Morgan & Chase (Bank One) apologizes for slavery

    I think we can all agree that slavery was/is a bad thing, but I'll leave it up to the rest of you to make a value judgment on whether reparations (which this clearly is) is a good thing in our society.

    Hmmm, funny they don't mention that the scholarship is limited to African-Americans, but I'm willing to bet no other race gets a penny of this 5 million.

    This may be a form of reperations, but as long as it's coming out of a corporation's pocket & not mine - I'm fine with it. This is just a big PR move.

    I'm wondering about this commitment to Chicago... Did they get accused of having slaves thus were required to research it? Is this something Chicago makes all their companies do?

    i saw this notice a couple days ago when i logged on to check my bank balance.

    i definitely do benefit from the slave money my ancestors made, but that doesnt mean i should pay up.
