If the players were breaking team curfew rules than they would be in hot water. Les Miles can't have a team captain "quarterback" breaking the rules. It sets a poor example and undermines his authority as a coach. I would sit Jefferson for one game just for breaking curfew. The season will likely be a bust now. I wonder if the second and third QB have been getting in enough work to be effective at running the offense. If the whole Perrilloux thing wasn't bad enough, now this.............. Miles needs to recruit players who want to be leaders and uphold the team rules.
Miles needs to get on the phone over to John Curtis school over in River Ridge and just recruit from there. Problem solved if he can keep that talent in-state.
The season ain't a bust and yes JJ and JL HAVE been sharing snaps at practice, I read. Back up there junior. Many didn't feel JJ would finish the season as our starter anyway so we MAY be better off now than we were two weeks ago...the world will never know. I DO KNOW we have the support cast for a qb to come in and get er done. JL isn't a RS Fresh. He brings something to the table. Mett too.
It is a coincidence that he had two QB's made to leave. The others that left were for PT and baseball. What I say IS coincidence is the fact he recruits "good" kids. Just happened to get a couple of QB's that got into trouble.
It happens all the time on teams across the nation. That's why you recruit depth. Miles and co have done a putrid job recruiting QB's. That's why they are in the predicament they are in, not because of coincidence. Had they done even a decent job of recruiting QB's JJ wouldn't have been higher than #3 on the depth chart.
As a part of preseason camp, LSU coach Les Miles invited District Attorney Hillar Moore to speak to the team during fall camp. “We had a lengthy discussion of how you should act, and what it’s like in a bar, and the responsibilities of an athlete,” Miles said. As a fan, this is what drives me nuts about this entire thing. Miles put in the effort to bring the DA in to specifically talk about behavior and consequences. As a responsible coach, that's all you can do. You can lead a horse to water............. I hate if for our program that JJ and the others involved made a poor decision in this. They had the prior training to walk away.
There is a report that Jefferson has hired a new attorney. I'm not surprised. Fisher has failed to get Jeffersons side of the story out and failed to keep him out of jail. Shea Dixon (@Sheadixon) on Twitter
