who does mccain think he is? threatening to get involved with baseball? cant he let anyone do anything? first he cripples our free speech rights with his campaign finance reform, now he wants to use my tax dollars to regulate baseball? baseball? since when is the government in charge of baseball? baseball may hurt over this steriod thing, i am not really sure. if they do, i am sure the lost revenue will teach baseball a lesson and they will clean up their act. thats called capitalism. i think my opinion is that testing should be strict, because i like strategy, stealing bases, and smallball. but it isnt my decision, nor is it my government. what i dont like is my government wasting their time making decisions about baseball. i want my government making decisions about important things like wars. i am beginning to think mccain cares a little too much about seeing his name in the newspaper.
Agreed with everything you said as I have stopped caring about baseball since the days of the Bash Brothers in Oakland. I DAMN sure don't want my tax dollars going to either subsidize or regulate the most boring professional sport out there.
My friend it's already been done and that's John "I want attention" McCain is all over this. On January 20, 2005 supplements known as prohormones that are clearly leagl now will become a schedule 3 norcotic. They will not require an age limit like cigs or alcohol they will just be illeagal. Evidently taking aim at the supplent industry is what the senate was elected to do while children go hungry, our borders are like screen doors, people who work all thier lives can get cancer and cost them thier life savings you get the picture. Note to the ####### senate. Do what you were elected to do and leave the light weight stuff that you have no business in alone. o: Now I am pissed!!
i actually agree with mccain that steroids should be policed heavily and removed from baseball, but i strongly disagree that the government has any business paying attention to baseball. while he is at it, maybe he should have the supreme court fix the BCS.
Baseball games dominated by pitching are the best and most interesting to watch. There is so much that goes into every single pitch and eveyr at bat. So many decisions to be made on the bases. etc etc.... I miss that type of professional baseball. Sure, you get a great pitching matchup on occasion but the days of 2-1 games are long gone.
i agree with that. i also like players that look more like normal humans and not overblown freaks. i remember when giambi used to look like me. and then he started looking like a comic book character. i would rather watch a fat tony gwynn or tiny ichiro than a bloated muscle monster. base stealing and pinch hitting and strategy, thats good stuff. home runs are fun, but can be too much. crazy steroid-laden baseball is like slamball, the basketball with trampolines. it is kinda cool, but more of a joke than the real version of the sport.
I absolutely agree with you Martin. I voted against this guy even though I am as GOP as it gets. To threaten gov't involvement is pathetic. But it gets his little name mentioned in the paper. Good ole John, standing up for integrity
The sad thing is you are not that far off the mark with the BCS comment. The gov't threatened to get involved in that too :thumb:
