The two biggest cases against big business hiring illegal aliens were Tyson Chicken and WalMart. Both are based in Arkansas and both were reduced to a slap on the wrist. Three guesses as to who the President was and three more to figure what state he's from. These politicians (both parties) don't play by the rules when it comes to this issue.
i feel like illegals are not only 100% blameless, i am almost always on their side. they have suffered for nothing more than being born in a terrible country. they only want what we have, and it isnt like we did anything to deserve it. we were simply born into it. in fact we are electing officials that are desperate to ruin the freedom we have here. one of my favorite immigrant groups is cubans, particularly old cubans. they really respect what we have here in america, the freedom, because they know the problems of government management better than anyone. they are really better americans than most of the rest of us. they know what is important.
Ask a Haitian what they think of Cubans? You may be surprised. Cubans have a lot of political pull. Try Google for the "Wet Foot - Dry Foot" policy that applies to Cubans.
Didn't mean to insult you. Most people have no idea what it is. Many Hiatians hate Cubans for what they perceive as impartial treatment when they reach our shores. They're processed, given cash, and walked out the door without any threat of being returned. Those from Haiti, Dominican Republic, and many other countries are repatriated...yet Cubans remain.
i would like to see us open the door wide open for both haitians and cubans. it would enrich us by providing workers, and it would pressure those countries to reform or lose their populations. again, the pre-requisite of my open-door policy is a massive reduction in social service. we should be the country of opportunity, not handouts. that includes health care. if you can earn your keep, i say welcome, no matter who you are. ultimately i would like it if all countries would reform immigration to the extent that they would actually compete for population. people would go wherever they wanted. that would be awesome. give us your tired, your poor, huddled masses, wretched refuse, you know the routine.
There are legal ways to move to the United States, earn a green card, be productive, learn English, and earn citizenship. I have no objection to foreigners respecting our laws and our quotas and our requirements for consideration for this great honor. We need Mexican labor for our agriculture industry. We don't need it to take away construction or trucking jobs from Americans. We'll take those Mexicans willing to work here under proper visa's and consider them for green-card status if they work out and are productive. We don't need Mexican felons. We don't need Mexican with communicable diseases and lacking immunizations. We don't need Mexicans just looking to take advantage of US social services that they don't pay taxes to support.
