Read this quote from him in today's Time Picayune. He was talking about Gerry Dinardo and how he fit down here. "They loved the guy. As good a coach as Nick Saban is and as successful as he's been, I don't think he was as popular as Gerry Dinardo. It was a different feeling. He belonged to the people. He belonged to us."

He must have snorted a bunch of toot to even think DiNardo was as popular as Saban.

Dinardo was very well liked and very popular with the fans until he lost his mind and the team. Once the wheels fell off fans were completely shocked and very disappointed, it was time for him to go.

Had DiNardo accomplished the unthinkable in keeping Cecil Collins out of the apartments of unsuspecting young women and out of prison he may still be at LSU. Same with Larry Foster. DiNardo did recruit well and, IMO, Collins and Foster were 2 of the more pure talented kids we've had in the last 20 years...

Such is life - things certainly worked out for LSU.

Have to disagree about Dinardo recruiting well, he signed a load of big time recruits but many many of the most talented were not eligible and it showed in the # of scholarship players on the roster when Saban took over.

Larry Foster never assaulted anyone...Once again, you don't know the whole story...

Foster was a married man with children...and "another woman" threatened that if he didn't do as she pleased, she would mail or get to his wife to show her pictures of an incriminating nature...

Foster was told by the woman at the time that the photos were in her purse. He did not steal her purse for money...He stole it to get the photos...

What if YOU were married...and YOU knew you had made a mistake...and YOU knew someone was threatening to bring that mistake back to haunt you and to END your marriage...BREAK YOUR HOME...What would it lead you to do?

How many men out there would say that they would do anything to protect their family? If it meant begging, borrowing, and stealing...Many men better than you have done it, and even more who are less...

But, be that as it may...Foster made a mistake...The taking of the purse-no matter the motivation-was another mistake which was a compounding of the first...

It ultimately cost him...But he was no predator. He was a family man who had made a mistake, as many men have...He did what he thought was right in a heated moment to try to protect his happiness, his family, his marriage, his children, and his wife...

Why not ask a question about what the deal was with Larry Foster rather than opening your yap and thinking he needed to steal a purse?

Do you honestly think-in the most lean years ever for this football program-that a player has ever wanted for money?

    *sighs*

Maybe I am missing something here !

Is that the 20 dollar purse? To many times it is the young ladies fault , take Kobe by now I am thinking that little girl raped him, to hear his lady lawyer talk , now the 20 dollar purse is back and the little girl had pictures of him and her , and he was just trying to protect his family and home ?? Who took the pictures ?? What was he doing in the puictures that he did not want his wife to see he do? Oh now I am starting to get the picture , he thinks with his feet not his heart . It is not his fault someone , made him do it. Ok, I beleive it ! Really I do ------
