I thought the guy should have beat out Babs in the first time around, to bad to many poor white trash think all dark skinned people have to be from Africa.

I know Nagin got re-elected after all his Katrina screw ups, but are we dumb enough to do it again?

Nothing would surprise me in LA politics anymore. Nothing. Geaux Bobby. I do, however, have some questions about his recent votes in congress. Raising the minimum wage? Hell, we shouldn't even have a minimum wage, much less be raising it.

The indigenous dark-skinned people from Africa did not vote for him either. He needs to really get the message out that he was born and raised in Baton Rouge, not Bombay.

As soon as I got that email saying he was gonna run I got really excited for the election season. Jindal is awesome and definately should've won the first time around and I think he will this time.

The most recent poll shows Jindal with a huge lead, 59 to 35. I think Blanco is done no matter what, but that doesn't mean it'll be Jindal. It depends on the other democrats in the race.

I doubt her own party will support her in this campaign.

I was a big Hunt Downer supporter in 03, but voted for Jindal in the run-off. I have a good friend who worked on the Jindal campaign in 03, and is now a Jindal staffer. His opinion is that Jindal lost the 03 election because of his overly conservative stance on abortion. He expects Jindal to put up a more moderate pro-life front this go around.

Sorry, but I don't see why race or nationality should even be a factor. There is no doubt that it was a factor in the last gubernatorial election - most notably in north Louisiana. But that was not the reason Jindal lost. Right up until the last few weeks of the election all the polls were showing him in the lead - and these polls took the northern vote into account. What cost Jindal the election was Blanco's negative campaigning toward the end. It was not until her negative ads came out that Jindal began to drop in the polls.

Race was a major factor in north Louisiana. I talked to many conservative north Louisianans who usually vote republican who said that they just couldn't see voting for a "foreigner." Likewise blacks have told me that they don't think "foreigners" have anything in common with them and that many disrespect black folks.

I was the same way. I had to explain to my wife why I was alittle overly happy.

I would love to be able to help out in the campaign once I get my family settled!
