Sounds good to me. The people who make up all the rumors about Saban jumping for every NFL job that opens up are all media people looking for something to say on TV or the newspaper. Jimmy Johnson is an NFL insider who probably knows Nick Saban. Maybe even they are friends and he and Nick have talked. Saban has a lot on NFL contacts and he is smart to maintain the lines of communication whether he is looking for a pro job or not. What recruit will not want to sign with LSU because his coach can open doors for him with the pro guys?

    Jimmy Johnson is da man

there's not too many coaches that can do what he did.

that other OU coach would've never won a superbowl without
    Jimmy's team.

    (Barry Switzer)

I wonder what he's up to now days and how come OU didn't hire
him back a few years ago.

I think 2 of the vacated NFL head-coaching jobs will be filled by Patriots' coordinators. Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weiss are both high on the list of coaching candidates.

Being a bit of a Patriots fan :), I'd hate to lose anyone, but Weiss wouldn't be bad--I hope the Giants take him (Weiss is also from NJ--so it's like going back home for him). Besides, Weiss' offensive schemes are starting to get old with me: dump pass for 5 yards, WR quick screen for 3 yards, not enough commitment to the running game, etc.
