He will interview on Thursday. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/ncaa/12/13/uab.fisher.ap/index.html
The Auburn board is saying that Birmingham radio stations are reporting that Jimbo will not interview at UAB after all. Rumor is that the Alabama Board of Trustees would not approve a salary over $400,000 even though UAB has private funding comittments for $600,000. Neil Callaway interviewed today and Rush Porpst is interviewing tomorrow.
Thanks for the information red, I hadn't heard the news. Shows how commited they are to winning huh. They'll need to put their money where their mouth is cause you do get what you pay for up to a point- I understand dimenishing returns- but they'll have to anti up. I'm glad and I hope he stays put. :thumb:
Perhaps the Alabama BOT doesn't want UA-Birmingham to quickly and painlessly replace a coach with a top talent when UA-Tuscaloosa is still dinking around.
UAB is a 3rd rate program. Im gald Jimbo isnt going to interview there. What a waste. Hoover high school gets more fans to their games then UAB does. What humiliation for UAB.
Speaking of Hoover High, I am watching what I assume is the replay of the Alabama 6A high school Championship between Prattville and Hoover, and they are talking about one of those coaches taking the UAB job! If it's Hoover, UAB may reconsider, as Prattville is up 35-21. If they're looking at high school coaches, they certainly can't be looking at Jimbo. Plus if it's the Hoover guy, maybe they can get their own MTV show!!!:hihi:
Dont be fooled by what you saw in that game. Hoover lost because they all got big heads from that MTV show. I read they have more D-1 prospects on that team than any other high shool team in the country this year. I think they have 7 sure fire SEC caliber players on that team. In total I read where they have like 25 seniors who will be playing on some level saturday's. On paper they were the best players but on the field they werent the best team.
I wasn't fooled by what I saw in that game. I already knew they were overrated. I found that out when Curtis put up 28 unanswered points against them earlier this year. And besides, all I said was that UAB might change their mind if they saw THIS game.
