Everyone was tight tonight. I really believe the player were trying a little to hard to make it happen tonight. This team will settle down and play and let things happen. This team will be winner, is a winner.
the game plan was horrible. we totally abandoned the run. Everybody in the stands could tell you that if we were under center it was prolly a run and in shotgun prolly a pass. it was way too predictable.
The whole game was dictated by the playing conditions. I can tell you that. From the opening kickoff fumble to the 3 missed XPs by Serna. The whole game was about mud. Next week we will come out and dominate Ark. State. Then the next week we will find out what kind of team we really have.
I agree Fightintiger. I dont think it was as bad in the second half but he also had a quarterback in their making him look better by throwing on target. But some of the first half playcalling was horrible. He did not adjust his playcalling in the first half to meet the field conditions. He did better in the second half. You can not use speed around the corner on a wet field. It negates it. And with them crowding the box why not hit them up the middle with a few take off routes. Use some of the plays the Oregon State guy was running and throw some 8 yard moving forward routes. Take advantage of their weaknesses basically and that is their safeties. Up the middle. When he started running some over the middle routes in the second half you see what happenned. But also his quarterback was able to get the ball there. I will say randal came in an finished off the drive and this team will need more than just the quarterback position to step up. Recievers dropped too many balls and dbacks dropped 3 int at least. You have to make plays and those can change momentum. Our defense got tired and so did theirs. I think it was what allowed us to win the game because i saw tired in the Oregon State team at the end. LSU was tired but had momentum on his side. Geaux LSU
Good pick, but I would have to go with Florida of last year as his worst game. Fisher is the most stubborn OC I have ever seen. He will stand by that West Coast single back/three receivers formation no matter what, he always comes back to it. Hey Jimbo, fullbacks aren't just for goal line situations! OSU was putting nine in the box all night with straight man in the secondary. If you want to run the ball, you are going to need a lead blocker because you are outmanned at the point of attack! If nothing else is working, get in the I-formation and POUND, just like you did with Mississippi State back in 2000 and 2002. At least he started stretching the field with Dwayne Bowe late in the game. Took him long enough. And yes, I would've like to see the tight ends more involved in the offense. Oregon State knows how to use tight ends. They burned us all night with them. Some games, he's very good. But others, GEEZ!!!
Plain and simple. It didn't matter who in the hell was running the ball. You're not going to have an effective game against that team with 8 in the box....
