New Bama Baseball... Coach Jim Wells? WBRZ just announced Jim Wells is going to stay at Bama. Said his retirement decision came to early. Wonder what really happened? Whoops apparently old news. Sorry I looked for a thread but did not see one.
I agree. I wish Coach Wells the best in what I'm sure has been a difficult time. Obviously he was unhappy with certain things within the Athletic department at Bama and the lack of support he has received compared to new compensation packages handed out to the football coaching staff. I hope this means the University will now support him and the program he has built for University. If he just gets 1/5th the financial support Saban gets he will have one of the best programs in the Country.
I've got mixed emotions behind the story...but, he's a great guy and I wish him all the best in his personal and professional life.
Please. Give it up man. You don't understand the situation or have a clue to what has been happening with Jim. I mean no disrespect but the conjecture you've been posting as facts are just out there.
Well, he received a lucrative offer to manage the Birmingham Barons, which he felt he just couldn't pass up. After a day or so, though, he decided he wanted out of his contract and wanted to go back to Alabama. As a result, he is not allowed to coach in the Minor Leagues for five years. :hihi:
Terry, I love your contibutions to this board. I enjoy your "informed" opinions on all things bama. What I do not understand is when someone posts something, this Jim Wells situation for instance, that you don't agree with, you trifle the post but withhold information in rebuttal. If you can't post the "inside stuff" which you purport to have, why respond at all ? My suggestion is this. When posters here post ignorant stuff, set 'em straight with the facts. When posters post things you don't agree with, because of your "inside" knowlege, and you're not at liberty to reveal all the facts you have, just let it go. I value what you have to say. I'm glad you're here. But I don't think you help bama things much when you come on here and tell folks they don't know what you're talkin' about but you can't tell them what you know. On such issues, I think the higher road taken would be just to let any of the fools amongst us go about their ignorant way without comment. No harm done. I trust you receive this in the spirit in which it was intended.
