That's what I'm saying - The Knicks before Lin are what the Suns would have been without Nash despite all the talent. I don't doubt that D'Antoni will make it work offensively, but the team would be best served to move forward w/o Melo. Yes, Stoudemire can't wait to get back and get all those easy layups from the pick and rolls.

I didn't see Lin's 1st three games with the Knicks that led ESPN to over hype the kid. I watched on Friday night since it was a good matchup with the Lakers coming to town.

There was a sense of electricity in the air at MSG and Lin got his team off to a hot start. Late in the game, Kobe started to get it going but Lin put the team on his back with a couple of daggers. I was thoroughly impressed with his overall game and it was a feel-good underdog story to embrace.

I think Melo & Amare would only add to Lin's game but you never really know until you see the chemistry on the court.

It's also interesting to note that Trent Johnson didn't even consider him while he was at Stanford. Not many D-1 schools did but I've read an interview where Lin said the Stanford coaches (didn't name any) misled and lied to him for a while and then suddenly told him that they weren't gonna offer him a spot and he was 'forced' to go to Harvard.

I don't think Trent Johnson should have offered him a scholly based on the interest from other D-1 schools (as you mention). Guessing that it's routine to show interest in a player while in HS but then have to make hard decisions based on available schollarships. Perhaps that's what happened with Lin.

I saw a story that the Warriors owner (Stanford alum) bashed Stanford for not recruiting Lin. I'm guessing that Lin could still be with the Warriors if they had truly believed in him so now I'll criticize the Warriors for bashing Stanford. Everything is clearer in hindsight.

Definitely. Just wanted to bring it up since there is an LSU connection to him. Shows how inexact recruiting can be because it doesn't account for how a player can win. Lin led his team to a DII state title in Cali which is no small feat. Hoping he can keep it up because the professional sports needs more guys like him.

Lin got no scholarship offers out of high school and no NBA team.drafted him out of college

amazing that everybody whiffed on this guy

he really wanted to go to UCLA, Cal, or Stanford -- he was California player of the year and sent them his highlight tapes, but all three schools refused to give him a scholarship. they offered him the chance to try and walk-on, but the only schools that guaranteed him a spot on the team were two Ivy League schools. heck, even the Harvard coach wasn't impressed when he first scouted him, calling him a "Division III player."

Melo said all the right things when asked if he can co-exist with Lin.

    We shall see.

Amare comes back tonight. I look for a 12-18 shooting night from him. Point blank range.

    7-0 with Lin.

He needs to cut down on his turnovers.

    7-1 with Lin.

And you would be correct, sir.

He was also only 2-8 from inside 5 foot range. He needs to learn how to get to the foul line when getting in that close (ala Chris Paul).

I see him taking care of the issue with the turnovers. Get it down to 4 turnovers per game and he'll be fine.
