1. i think it was a good call don't get me wrong, and i love the fact that Jefferson protects the ball well, and for the most part other than 2 picks this year, doesn't turn the ball over. But you could tell that he is reserved, and holds onto the ball too long. I still think he is on his way to being an elite SEC quarterback. But what amazes me about this kid, is how accurate he is on the run to his right.
  2. maybe he just saw something and wanted to take what gave us the best odds? smart play.
  3. if you notice it seems hes best at slants and quick outs, that are all timing. ie, when its a 3 step drop and lets it go. and also like you said when rolling to the right.

i kept wishing they would roll him out more instead of keeping him in the pocket. i think he sees the field better when his legs are moving. calms him down a bit.
  4. JJ seems hesitant to pull the trigger when he has time to think too much. The long drops are killing him. When he's forced to play instinctively he does much better. The line has played bad but JJ is holding onto the ball too long on many plays.

It's why I wished we would have opened the offense up much more in the first 4 games. JJ needed the opportunity to sling it around and get comfortable. Now we don't have that luxury.

Conversely he has a very veteran way of not turning the ball over and not forcing it. Bottom line is the Tigers are 5-0 and have a great shot at beating the Gators at home.

One thing is for sure; All of the guessing whether or not Crowton/Miles is holding back comes to an end this Saturday.

  5. He just needs to gain confidence as the year goes and trust in his ability. Do not be afraid to fail young man. Give it your all and learn from your mistakes. That is how men become leaders and winners.
  6. All you Jefferson haters need to hit the road. We won, or don't you realize it?
  7. Perhaps it's not that he doesn't have confidence in himself as much as he does have a lot of confidence in Charles Scott, a much more experienced team mate. I hope so. He does seem to be much more confident and relaxed on instinctive plays or when he rolls out of the pocket. On straight drop back pocket passes, he takes much too long to get the ball out and seems to try too hard to force a successful play to happen rather than cutting his losses and throwing it away more often. All in all though a 10 yard sack is better than a pick 6 every day of the week. It's interesting that he seems less afraid of getting clobbered by a huge rushing lineman or LB than he he is of making a bad throw for a pick to a safety.
  8. I keep telling myself he's just a sophomore. He'll mature. At least he's
    not another Josh Booty.
  9. the reason he did it, IMHO is that he did not want to take another sack and lose yardage. I think it was a smart move, as UGA would have blitzed.
