You make many good points . . .except the notion that Lee is finished. He had one bad game. Jefferson has had a half-dozen bad games in the past two years. He could have another one.

I still think scrapping the two-quarterback system was not LSU's best move.

i agree with this. But it (2 qbs) can always be used like we did last year. throw lee in with the game on the line if we fall behind and pray he can lead us back.

he may be better being unsure of when hes going in. less time to think and panic.

because unlike JJ, the moment seems to overwhelm him at times.

It hasn't been scrapped. We didn't need a QB in the last 2 games. Miles has reasons for doing what he does.

The fact of the matter is Miles likes JJ better as the QB. He's the coach, it's his call.

But Lee has definitely gotten the short end of the stick with regards to treatment. JJ has made more mistakes in his time here than I care to remember and he's given chance after chance. Lee doesn't get the chances to come back from mistakes like JJ has. Just reality.

I'm glad we have both and both will be the reason this team wins another NC.

Lee seems to be too afraid to make a mistake when there's something on the line. He plays well when we are well ahead. He played well last year when he came in when we were already down. It was almost like he wasn't worrying about screwing up since we were already in a hole and it wasn't his fault.

When the game is in the balance, that is when he is most uncomfortable and most prone to mistakes. Luckily for him we weren't in that situation very much before the Alabama game.

There's always multiple perspectives for every issue.

So far, I've been happy with JJ's play. I haven't seen him outperform Lee at any point, but he has played well, and I'm confortable with either of them playing. .... provided the coaches make an effort to find a way to win with either of them. That is the problem, with JJ back, they are not willing to find a way to win with Lee .. they just abandoned him, and went to JJ.

I ... not anyone else, but IIIII ... don't think either of them suck as bad as most think they do. JL was not always the backup, he was a starter at one time ... and IMO, should have gotten starts last year when JJ was stinking up the field, including in the AR game last year.

They both have their strengths and weaknesses. The challenge for any good OC is to maximize the potential of the player he has. Unfortunately, I think LSU's OCs have failed miserably in this regard. Instead of maximizing Lee's potential, our OCs ran from him, and went so conservative as to relegate him to a game manager, handing the ball off most of the time, instead of striving for the maximum strike potential, increasing the pass play book. I mean ... how many times have you read on here ... "when are we going to open up the playbook".

They "seem" to be opening up the playbook a tad more for JJ. It goes back to what I've said all along ... CLM has undying faith in JJ, but has absolutely no confidence in Lee. If you expect someone to fail, eventually, they will. For Lee, that was Alabama.

As for JJ .. I'm glad he has a new sense of confidence. I'm happy to see him playing well. Good Play is what changes the attitudes of the general fan about a player ... not technique, not Football talk, but good play. JJ is doing just that. .....

.... BUT .. just as we saw with Lee [Bama Game], let JJ go out their and pull a last years AR game, with three 3-outs in a row, a botched TD drive, and a fumble in the second half, .... and just watch the new found luv for JJ fade as fast as the new found luv for Lee did after the ints in the bama game. ... [I say that ... unlike Lee, who was shown the bench, JJ will start the Bowl Game, and be forgiven all by CLM].

For JJ and Lee's sake, I hope that JJ does well the rest of the year. Win the :crystal:, and everyone will remember how two mediocra QBs lead a great team to LSU's best season.:geaux:
