Do you think Ryan Perrilloux will ever reach his potential at LSU or do you think Jarrett Lee will skip over him? Of course, if Perrilloux does not return, the Tigers will enter the season with only one quarterback who has played in a college game. In fact, the backup probably would be incoming freshman Jarrett Lee (6-2, 190). The coaches originally planned to redshirt Lee, but instead he arrived on campus in June for summer school and offseason workouts. He'll have to get up to speed in a hurry.
He'd better be reinstated, or else Wayne Brady's gonna have to choke -- Eh, you know the rest. I'm very much looking forward to Perrilloux getting more snaps this year. I want to see if he can read defenses at the line, and read the ends on the option. If he is successful, our new OC will have a fun couple of years ahead of him.
It's really tough to say at this point, behind that RP hasn't even been reinstated yet. Assuming that Ryan comes back, I think it will be a close battle between him & Lee with Ryan getting the edge based on experience.
it'll be like Matt vs Russell...each get snaps, but Ryan gets his turn 1st...Now as good as Lee is, he'll be pushing Ryan, and that's gonna either Make Ryan improve into his 5 star hype, or Lee will pass him by. I personally think Lee is a Matt Flynn type of player, with a better Arm. I think Lee will be Great in 2 seasons.
Perilloux has three years in the system. He knows the playbook, he knows the coaches, and he knows the receivers. Perilloux will back up Flynn and start for the next two years. The freshman will redshirt unless we take an injury . . . or if Perilloux departs.
I don't understand what you are saying here. Crowton has said he wants to keep what worked well, but it is a new system for all three, right?
CLM has said it's going to be a hybrid of both systems. Better for the environment. But Crowton has said that he wants to get the ball to the tight ends 30 to 40 times a year. I'm not even sure our QB's know the tight ends are eligible receivers. So I think it's going to be a pretty fresh look.
RP will still have 2 years more of maturity, experience facing college-level defenses (even though mostly in practice), and work with our wideouts. Plus, the offense will have some things similar to Jimbo's offense. It isn't completely new.
Only problem I see is that this morning 1210AM was reporting from an "unconfirmed but reliable" source that RP wasn't doing his community service (which was one of CLM's stipulations for him returning to the team).. I tried to keep listening to see if they could confirm it, but not during the time I was listening... SO.. If that were true, then it would stand to reason we would see Lee out there, but if that's all a load of crap, then RP will be re-instated.
