Perhaps, but it is still a big disappointment.

It's a mild disappointment. As long as he eventually gets here, with his mom, we'll have a real shot at him.

Now that camp is over and done with and McFarland didn't make it, I have been hearing that we don't have the slight lead for him anymore. Is this true? On another forum people seem to think that his mom won't budge on her decision with Texas. Will he still make a visit with her later on and do we still have a slight lead with him? I think he wants to come here but the key is his mom and will she give us a chance to change her mind. Parso can you help me out?

We still have a slight lead. He wants LSU. His mom is leaning Texas.

    Hopefully he decides for himself.

This info you just posted was from an interview with his HS coach. I think we have the edge for him and I hope he does what he wants. But as of now his mom is in love with Texas but I assume she we eventually come in for a visit because she has said she would on a few different occasions. Probably for an official. Once that happens who knows. I think Miles will give her something to think about.

Still have no idea what her reasons are for putting the clamp on. Sounds like a strict parent who is set in her ways but who knows. I did hear she does not attend his Friday night games because they are at the same time her prayer group meets.

Makes me wonder, where is McFarland's father?

I think we still lead, but it will no doubt be a tough pull.

McFarland reminds me of McKnight in terms of it being so much up in the air for such a high profile player (just replace Ole Miss with Oklahoma as the 3rd team in the mix with little chance of landing him).

I hope it doesn't go until NSD this time around.

The longer this drags out, the less and less likely he is going to Texas.

Mack Brown likes his players to commit ASAP.

I think it bodes well that he hasn't pulled the trigger.

I dont see j-mc committing till signing day no matter where he goes. Imo, he may already have his mind made up...to the point that the coaches probably already know.

The Texas coaches may like their commits to come ASAP...but i dont see them pushing this kid. dunno

If the coaches know already, it bodes well for us that we didin't go hard after sentimore.
