I would like to hear everyone's opinion on who will be the starting quarterback against UL Lafayette. I think JR will be even though I would prefer Flynn. JR has the athletic ability but thats not everything. It seems last year that JR never threw the ball quick enough. How could we only put up 24 on Appalachian State then put up 40 on the number #1 defense, Miami. Just want to know opinions.
JR absolutely will start (health permitting). In fact, I would expect him to play into the second half as he'll need extra work. The $64,000 question for ULL is, IMO, will we see #11 make his Tiger Stadium debut before it's all said and done. I say yes.
Dude, Where have you been? Flynn transferred to Southern, JR is entering the NFL's supplemental draft, and Perriloux told LM to piss off that he is going to play baseball. We moved Early Doucet to QB and he is going to take us to the promised land. Note for the Nutts: Just thought this would be easier than starting the 900th thread about the QB situation.
JR starts. Some fans want Flynn. Perriloux is a non issue until at least next year. My opinion.....bench JR, play Flynn. But, what do I know?
Why is everyone being so rough on the new guy? How is he supposed to know that this subject has been discussed to death around here? There are a lot of new folks who will be checking out this site as the season approaches and asking a lot of the questions that we have asked each other already. If all they see here are a bunch of smart asses they will go find another forum. Yes titan, you may not get a lot of responses on this topic today, but you can find several old threads with quite a lot of comment. The short of it is that Russell is the starter until somebody takes the job away from him. Flynn is the darling of many fans based on the single brilliant game he has played. Perrilloux is a freshman who will get his first snaps this fall, but he is a legend in his own mind. Of course, all of the great ones feel the same way. The competition will be wide open in August and all three QB's are capable. But Russell has the experience, the arm, and the job . . . for now.
