I have seen JR on film and he is 100 times better then Vincent Young. Young looks just like Jamal Lord in that he runs very well and is a terrible passer those guys at Texas did not know how good they had it with Chrissy Sims.

Wonder what yall thought on the subject are Because Young was very Close to coming to LSU and he was the #1 guy the year before Jamarcus Russell

I think Young will be an outstanding QB once he gets more experience. He has all the physical tools ... now he needs to learn to read defenses.

Russell has yet to play one down of college football so I have no idea how anyone can say he'll be better or worse than someone else.

Young might become a passer, but right now he is best at running the ball. I have always believed that running the ball is the job of the RUNNING backs, yeah its great to have a mobile QB
but I think he must be able to pass the ball.
The QB's at LSU are pass first, thats the way I like it.

    Its called

evaluating Talent when you see someone you evaluate them and sometime you compare to others and Vincent Young is not as good as Jamarcuss Russell.

Jamarcuss Throws the ball better looks better doing it and has size to shake off defense in the pocket. Vincent Young has 2 weapon and he stands on them he looks terrible throwing the ball down field.

Matt Mauck was not a pass first QB. He was a running QB that had to learn how to throw the ball. Think back to the beginning of last year ... Mauck put up some pretty awful passing numbers.

Mauck's tremendous improvement in the passing game this year is a result of experience and coaching...

I agree, we are a much better team now that Maulk is a pass first
    QB.

    MARK THIS DOWN.

IF Mauck decides to leave after this season, Matt Flynn will be the starter come spring over Jamarcus for one reason.

Flynn already knows the playbook and understands the offense inside and out. Jamarcus does not.

Young would be fine with a competent coaching staff, just like Jason Campbell would.

Don't judge either one of them yet, give them time. Remember, Rohan didn't start earlier not only because of Booty but also due to having a hard time learning the entire playbook. And turned out pretty darn good at LSU. once he got that comeback win in the Peach Bowl under his belt he went to Spring practice with much more confidence and maturity, learned most of what he needed to in the spring and had the best QB season in LSU history the next fall. Give guys time to mature without rushing to judgement.

We will have plenty of time to see Jamarcus and Matt Flynn. From what i hear we are going to have 2 really strong qb in the future.
