Here is a snippet of an article about our new QB about the All-Star game. (http://www.al.com/sports/mobileregi...standard.xsl?/base/sports/105463190158000.xml) (What we want to read) Williamson quarterback JaMarcus Russell and Hoover receiver Chad Jackson were both rated among the top five in the nation at their respective positions last season and are Parade All-Americans. And after one day of practice in preparation for Saturday's Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, both are showing that the raves were justified. "I feel like I'm looking at a couple of guys who will not only be playing on Saturday," Jones said, "but playing on Sunday." The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Russell, an LSU signee who was named the state's Mr. Football, stood tall in the pocket in Monday's practices, ending the morn ing session with a beautifully thrown deep post to McAdory receiver Matt Caddell and earning praise from Jones. "JaMarcus is as good as I have ever seen in high school football throwing the ball," Jones said of Russell, who broke the state's career passing yardage record with 10,744 yards. "He's better than a lot of college quarterbacks. He throws the ball well and he's a heady kid with a lot of confidence." Yeh for us Lane who ?
Awesome post TexasTigers! (I'm a Tiger from Texas as well). Looks like the kid has a lot of confidence and sounds like he can be a leader, which is what you need in a QB.
This was a post from some guy on TiderInsider. I found it posted on another LSU board. "JAMARCUS RUSSELL: If you don't like me gushing over 18 year old boys, just click off this post. I have been singing his praises since October of his freshman season at Williamson. He just keeps getting better. His ceiling is limitless. He literally is the biggest kid on the field. He is as tall as Justin Moon. And now he is adding muscle. He could literally be about 6'6 and 235 right now. And he flicks his wrist and gets about 35- 40 yards. When he puts his lower body into his throws, not even Chad Jackson wants a piece of it. Then, after your jaw is dropped because of his power, he throws touch Wuerffel- esque fades. I hate that he signed with LSU and I won't ever see him in Crimson. But as a pure fan of football (and aren't we all supposed to be?), I LOVE watching him play. He is a freak. And I mean that as a compliment.(g)"
Here's another blurb from TI http://www.tiderinsider.com/forum/messages/550719.html tide boyS look good.. RUSSEL LSU QB LOOKED UNNNNNNNNREAL.
