Fox News coverage has been pretty shameful throughout these past few days......

Such as? Not defending Fox, but I've watched them quite a bit and I don't see where their coverage is any different from MSNBC and CNN.

It's a valid idea, in a valid discussion. I'm not sure Valencia is exactly a center of intellectual discourse though. Sounds to me like he's just trying to make a name for himself.

His opinion has merit, but what he fails to acknowledge is that it is in the best interest of the United States to rebuild New Orleans.

New Orleans is the #1 port in the country in terms of tonnage handled, not to mention it's importance to the petrochemical industry. It makes economic sense to rebuild it, because it would probably be cheaper than relocating these facilities elsewhere. If there are concerns about the geography, then that needs to be tackled with improved engineering. Look at the Dutch....their country is almost entirely made up of land reclaimed from the sea. Granted, they don't have hurricanes, but they obviously know what they are doing when it comes to protecting low-lying land near major port facilities.

I believe that if it pared down to a matter of simple economics, as he is trying to do, then it makes more sense to rebuild than relocate.
