Admittedly, this is a semi-formed opinion, but bear with me for a moment. We've now seen LSU essentially melt down, via unforced turnovers and such, against two talented teams against whom they held early double-digit leads. We did hear some scuttlebutt after Tennessee about players not drinking enough water, etc., etc. Midway thru the third here against Florida, I suggest we take a gander in a specific direction as to why our guys, well, suck fat d*ck in the second half against talented teams. In short, they're not in the shape they were in the past. No less than Vince Lombardi himself once quipped, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all". I'm not accusing any of our Tigers of cowardliness, but when they turn the ball over at such an obscene rate---guys like Joe Addai who, for the past four years, didn't turn it over so frequently---there *has* to be a reason why. I think we've been a bit lazy in blaming it all on "coaching". Perhaps conditioning comes into play as well. I dunno, it's just a thought. Reaction-?

It doesn't bother me. I was trying to keep the board civil. These people might sit next to you at a game, if you'd go. After all they are LSU fans. You're a long time poster/contributor here and I thought by making fun ( tongue in cheek ) of this verbal abuse you throw out, it might get you to see the example you are setting. I just sincerely doubt you'd be this way in person. maybe so though I dunno. I am trying really hard to be less confrontational myself, there's no real reason for it. Life's too short. I'd hope a well respected member such as yourself would lead the way. I guess not.
Well, first off, I'm drunk. I can't deal with these idiots when I'm sober but I try to be a little more diplomatic. Here's the deal. For 4 weeks, these front runners have been bitching non stop about the defense. Now, after 3 stellar performances, it's become clear that our defense is as good as it ever was. So we beat Florida at home (finally) and all they can do is bitch about the mistakes. They did not cost us the game. They cost us a rout and that's what these yahoos can't handle. Sorry, but a spade is a spade and I have to point it out.
Ok i understand now, you're drunk that speaks volumes. :grin: I also thought Pelini's defense agaisnt ASU sucked. For obvious reasons. BUT for whatever reason, It's improved. thank's BO! :thumb: never the less it was justified at the time. Just like the ubber conservative play was probably a mistake in the second half against UT. again the criticism was justified. All in all the coaching and players have been improving. GREAT. and we won :geauxtige Never the less we do have some ball handling and some mistake issues, even Miles said this after the game. Do we expect too much? yeah probably. Hey it's LSU we like to win. ( who doesn't ) Now about the pissing and moaning. yeah some of it is excessive, BUT that's the beauty of being a fan, you can gripe or cheer. Right or wrong.
