Lee also came up gimpy after that tackle on the near safety. That may be another reason for a full half if Zach... Trust me, I don't expect to see Lee benched anytime soon. But the coach has been quoted as saying he would put Zach in in a "heartbeat" if the situation calls for it. Football is definitely about coaching before anything. But a team with well coached talent will beat a well coached average team 10 times out of 10. So to stick to the point of the thread. I think Zach's talent, (pocket awareness, coverage reads, arm strength and accuracy or all superior to that of Lee). P.S. No doubt, the pass to Peterson was el perfecto But Randle could still be running had that deep ball been anywhere near where it should have been thrown. P.S.2 I was mentioning this after the Oregon game. Teams are in trouble, because we are littered with so much young talent, that even when we try to call of the dogs, we really can't. It's like calling off the pitbulls, and sending in German Shepards
I didn't see the game last night so I can't comment on Mett. But I do know Lee will start every game this year unless he gets hurt or JJ comes back. Miles has proven that he is loyal to a fault. Now a lot of people are saying " we have a great running game and defense so all we need Lee to do is manage the game like our previous 2 NC QBs Mauck and Flynn". Sorry, but that won't work this year. The one major difference between Lee and the other 2 is Lee can't make plays with his feet like they did. Teams will be able to stack the box and force Lee to throw. And yes we have a scary good defense. But we can't expect them to win every game for us. We're gonna need our offense to score points. And it will be hard to do that if Les hides Lee and our offense is one deminsional. With all the high scoring games already this year, we're gonna have to be able to throw the ball. With what I've seen from Lee the past 3+ years, I don't think we can win a NC with him as our QB. I pray to God I'm wrong, but I just don't see it happening. If we didn'y have a NC caliber team i would be ok with that. But we have a NC caliber team and it will be a shame if we don't win it because of our QB play.
And if Lee doesn't perform to Les' standards and expectations, then I expect the Hat to make a change. I'm not offended and I don't think I've been defensive. I just don't agree with some of what you've posted. And yes, bottom line despite our differences we're LSU fans first and foremost. :helmet:
Mett's dad just called from the road to tell me that last night was the best night that he and his wife have ever had. He said you guys (fans) absolutely rock. I didn't realize the moon was full. Wow.
