....that badly and come back to win. Usually when LSU starts off badly, and tonight we started off badly, we can't turn it around. I think this was worse than the Ole Miss game last year, but certainly that game had much more riding on it's outcome. The skylar TO, then the D allowing OSU to overcome 1st and 35 for a TD, followed by a Marcus Randel INT. BUt the Tigers won, I'm impressed with the character of the team. It's a great way to learn a hard lesson.
It is called Nick Saban! He is 11 of his last 12 games that have been decided by a touchdown or less. I believe ESPN said that LSU was 0 of 10 in the previous 10 games decided by that margin. Think of the Blue Grass Miracle, UGA round 1, Ole Miss, and OU. Nick is a winner and he has the ability to elevate and motivate his players.
Nick won't take any credit Championship TEAMS find a way to win ... I seem to remember an OSU team last year "defending" its' NC ... and they didn't look too impressive ... just kept winning though ... with a lot less talent than this LSU team has
He is a winner, no doubt about it. I was having deja vu tonight thinking for a while that I was watching any number of Dinardo/J.Booty era games, but the incredible thing was that they never gave up. Especially after that blown TD pass when JR overthrew a wide open Green. I thought for sure that would take the wind out of their sails. Hats off to the whole team tonight. And hats off to the freakin Beavers. Those guys really did play a great game. I actually kinda felt bad for them at the end. Not that I'm not glad we won, but to lose like that is just tough. To any Beavers that may be reading this: Great game. You earned a lot of respect from a lot of people tonight, including me. The best of luck for the rest of your season. You'll have thousands of people cheering you on when you cream USC in a few weeks. And don't hate your kicker. It's not his fault. We did the exact same thing to Billy Bennet of Georgia last year.
