Interesting analysis of what playing 12 games means for teams in 2006, among other things. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/columns/story?columnist=maisel_ivan&id=2324487 For example, good luck to any Big 10 team harboring National Title aspirations--12 games...in 12 weeks! Plenty of LSU content, too. Dan Rad. quoted as saying he contacted up to 40 schools trying to fill that Oct date: :thumb:
Really good read. What is the Big Ten thinking? Though, they do get time off by not having a conference championship game. Off subject, but didnt Maisel go to Stanford? I saw him over Christmas in Mobile decked out in an Oregon shirt, pants, hat, and shoes(the nasty highlighter colors).
This whole thing shows the hypocracy of the NCAA for allowing the 12th game , but not allowing a playoff because it would "interfere with the academic mission of the member universities". I figure the players in the Big1T1en will be too tired to take exams by December. GEAUX TIGERS Thorny
