Its tuesday - Its done - Auburn and Tubby no longer #1 I dont know if its just me, but I think this whole LSU vs Tubby thing needs to go ahead and burn out. In the last two years the Auburn football team, and Tuberville have done nothing Classless to LSU. Except for the whipping they put on LSU last year but that was the game. I dont recall any post or pre game comments. Saban is friends with Tubby and if Saban likes him, something must be there. Saban is King. Tubby said himself "He extended the olive branch" last year when he was very un-tubby like during the game and before and after. Even though some LSU fans gave him reasons to escalate the whole thing. Tubby actually may have realized he was making enemies left and right in the SEC and saw what that can do with the situation with UT and Alabama. Sure there were some douche bag Auburn fans around here last week. But based on what i have seen so far it looks like the little puppie from Ruston are 10 times worse. Most of the Auburn fans around here were pretty cool people.. I had a great time before and after the game as our tailgate joined a big Auburn tailgate. Between their Bar-B-Que and our specialties Zagat would have rated our tailgate 5 stars. (Plus they had some hot woman with them) I guess my point (At least for me is) its time to bury the hatchet and realize its run its course. We (the fans) unloaded on Tubby and everything Auburn (Some people went very overboard) in 2001. To be honest Tubby was a Jack ass and deserved the verbal abuse, his behavior was an abomination, Cigars, Logo stomping, etc etc. LSU beat Auburn on the field and in the stands, went on to win the SEC and BCS Sugar Bowl while Auburn left with nothing and a Loss to ACC carpet North Carolina.. Last year Auburn returned the favor and handed LSU a 31-7 beating. LSU got stomped by Over rated UT and Auburn well, they got nothing in the SEC but did beat Penn State.. This year LSU issued a beating... A beating in a game that could result in a birth to Atlanta. Assuming LSU handles its business. So I guess maybe the whole cigar thing has run its course, the logo stomping all of it... (Seems like Home Field advantage plays a big role in this series) Its so old and tired, both schools have fans who have made asses of themseleves over it. I guess in short, I dont hate tubby anymore. I really dont, he has done nothing in the last two years to warrant it. None I have seen. His team beat LSU, but he did not play dirty or run up the score, they played better then LSU, this year LSU returned the favor. So I guess its over, Auburn is just another SEC rival, I want that win no more or no less then any other SEC win. If you want to say he is a crappy coach ? well fine that is good for us anyway... I will let Auburn and their fans decide that. I think he will never take AU to the next level. But that is Auburns problem. I really dont care what many Auburn fans say or the stories they make up about the beating of their Elderly. Having been to several of these games, I have seen little or no evidence of it. Let them make up their stories. To me its more sour grapes then anything. Not that Auburn fans really care about this post or me. Or care that we hated their coach for whatever reason. But Saturday was a re-birth. I used to like Auburn, well not like them like I like LSU but considered them a great fan base and a great SEC program. I am going back to that. Sort of Like USC or Tenn. I am over it. F the Pigs !

btw - on the same page - I would really like to see the LSU vs. Auburn rivalry brought up by Auburn fans w/o them griping about LSU fans behavior . . .I experienced or witnessed zero problems this year and had a great time . . the most obnoxious LSU fan I met the whole weekend was my brother . .but that's a different issue.
I think we need to get over our dislike for other SEC teams, period. Our conference plays the best football in the country. SEC schools' tailgating and fan support are second to none. And, above everythng else, we are Southerners - the rest of the country moves here when they retire or when their corporate headquarters relocate - we are at the top of the national heap. No need to bash each other the week after our teams play.
Terry Cox... I could not have said it better myself.... We are the SEC... The best conference in Football, even better then the new ACC from top to bottom.
