Is it just me or has anyone else noticed how there is nothing going on about LSU football. No one talking about the new offensive scheme nothing? I remember this time last year there were a lot of talks about how good LSU was going to be in the up coming season. Has the loss in the Chick Fila Bowl caused writers, analysts and even fans to turn their attention else where?
I wonder, too, whether we are all just "whistling past the graveyard," hoping to not disturb the gods of college football. Meaning, in the very recent past we were very highly ranked--top three--and the focus of attention was on us as a consequence. This year we are not so highly ranked, and it shows in the lack of attention focused on us. "Everybody loves a winner," and it seems that we are not. So, better to play it cool, take the low road, work below the radar, etc, & come out tough & smart, blindsiding our more highly-touted rivals (Bama, aTm, GA, etc.) with smart play (moving past the 50 yard line too), and an underdogs attitude. As was stated here recently, we need to come out with some really big chips on our shoulders. Really big chips.
Don't know if you got the message, but LSU lost 8 starters off the defense from last year? Thats the reason they won't be and good. Add to the fact that Cam won't be able to run his offense. Lets see, an average year is 10 wins with Les, can he do it again this year?
It's all about Urban love, throw in some Bama praise (I mean they have only won multiple NCs lately), and some ND favoritism, and there is no room for a non-sexy, hard-nosed football program like a Les Miles led LSU team. My motto this year is "under the radar". This is why.
But but but we lost so much on defense.........lets take a look at this one. LSU returns 12 of the top 20 tacklers from last year. uga returns 8 of 20 from last year. a&m returns 12 of 20. But most have uga and a&m beating LSU this year. On the other side of the ball... LSU returns 8 starters. uga returns 9 a&m returns 6 Can't get here soon enough.
Sure but we still have some very talented players coming back on both sides the ball. I just cannot fathym why people think Louisville is so good. Teddy Bridgewater getting of this hype much like Geno Smith. I'd be willing to bet Loisville losses atleat 3 games this year. Would be more but they have a soft schedule.
