after listening to the Ole miss conference...

I like a lot of the stuff he says... but a lot of the times all I hear is:

"Uhh..umm..uhh...we uh... and uh..umm... and uhhh"

Does anyone else get annoyed by this?

He comes off as mildly retarted to the media. I don't remember him being this bad at OSU. Hopefully, he just hasn't gotten comfortable yet & it'll get better.

He can talk like Elmer Fudd as far as I'm concerned. We are #3 in the country and that makes me happy. All the people I deal with all over the country begin their conversation with "Man those Tigers are on a roll ... " Miles appears to be a very good man and a good coach. Give him time, its his first act on the big stage, he'll get used to it.

It uhh, ummmm, isn't the errr, uhhh, stage. That is how Miles speaks. He just isn't a good public speaker. And it isn't that he is retarded. I always thought it was more of someone whose mind was ahead of his mouth and he couldn't get the words out. It never really bothered me because I think he is a very good person and a very good coach. But it drove my husband up a wall!

He needs to work with some media specialists. I think that maybe he didn't show his fire early on because someone (in PR) told him to tone things down when speaking and that would help with the, errrr, loss for words.

And he was that way at OSU.

He's got a slight speech impediment, which makes it tricky to enunciate certain sounds back to back...I've noticed he will often say umm to pause and think out what he's going to say so it won't cause a lisp or other speech artifacts heh. I know a couple of people who have similar problems and they do the same thing. He's capable of reasoned thought and sentences obviously, and when he gets pumped up you don't see him pause at all (like stutterers singing etc)...but what comes out in those instances can be weird!

You've obviously forgotten about Curley Hallman...Miles is a Rhodes Scholer by comparison.

btw I also think it's a little annoying, and more than a handful of fans are negative towards Miles for non-apparent reasons...and I think this annoying habit is part of that.
