Isreal shoots three missles at Hamas founder last night and kills him in his wheelchair while leaving a mosque. Hamas vows to not stop blood shed against Isrealites until they have the head of the Isreali Prime Minister.

    This one will be ugly..........

Question is, will Bush dabble in this issue on behalf of Isreal, or will we stand by and watch. I am hoping for the latter of the two personally, because this will be a no hold bars war between these two entities.

I am not saying we should get more involved, but we are talking about the assassination of the founder of a terrorist organization. Regardless of what we do or not do we are going to get some blame as they already think we gave Israel the green light. We have also frozen money for "charities" that were "donating" to the Hamas. We are involved whether you like it or not.

I know we froze thier assets, that happened her in the Dallas area (Richardson). Right now we are not the big target of Hamas, Isreal is for the attack. I sure hope Bush had nothing to do with this attack or condones it, because Hamas, while a terror organization, sticks pretty much to attacks in the Middle East against Isreal (which I do not condone and I think is very wrong, yet does not involve the US currently). I do not remember any Hamas attacks recently getting much publicity here in the US.

But I do agree....we will be a focal point now, so we should be ready and alert, yet not become directly involved.

you are right, we are involved whether i like it or not. and i dont like it. its absolute lunacy to take sides in a conflict like this. it puts americans at risk. our best plan would be to let one side completely slaughter the other, because there will be no peace until then.

We're involved whether we like it or not. Personally, I think we should launch
airstrikes into the Bekkah(sp?) Valley and every other known Hamas/terrorist
group training ground and stronghold. Terrorists are terrorists no matter who they attack, and if the war on terror that we're waging is to have any kind of credibility at all, we need to root it out and destroy it everywhere we can.
That includes places like Northern Ireland if necessary.

from CNN.com....US already implicated in attack by Hamas military faction.

Izzedine al Qassam, the military wing of Hamas, threatened reprisals in a statement. "Whoever decided to kill Yassin decided to kill hundreds of the Zionists," the statement said, making reference to Israelis. The group also accused the United States of being complicit in the deadly attack.

"The Zionists cannot have carried out this act without the approval of the U.S. administration, which carries the responsibility for this crime," the Izzedine al Qassam statement said.

White House national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, in a round of television interviews, said the United States did not know about the attack in advance.

"It is very important that everyone step back now and try now to be calm in the region," Rice told NBC's "Today" show, according to Reuters.

the real problem between Isreal and the Palestinians including Hamas is Isreals hands
have been tied by the US and the UN.
If we allowed them to fight the war on terror they wouldn't have a 9-11 almost everyday.
Some say its getting ugly now well IMO its been ugly for quite a while now.

We don't need to get involved, Just let Isreal do its thing but I guess some would say
    that would make us involved.
Its a no win situation over there because we're letting the terrorist win by holding Isreal's hand.
Arofat should have been killed or run out of Palestine a long time ago, he is the reason
Hamas and every other terrorist group is there, he is a proven liar and a proven "sadaam" of sorts.

Isreal's militay is perfectly capable of fixing this problem, I would personally think their better than our own military, they don't need our help their perfectly capable of taking
care of their own business affairs.
They should be able to sweep through Palestine and root out these people and do whatever necessary to get rid of these terrorist, remember that their government agencies have been dealing with this kind of thing for a long time, their intelligence is
better than ours because they don't let agencies get in the way.

Whats wrong with America and our war on terror?
Our agencies still get in each others way, if we had a 9-11 almost everyday like in Isreal I bet that would change!

BTW, we don't need to calm the region because terrorist aren't going to "calm down", they will strike when you least suspect it.
    What a stupid statement!

If your serious about the war on terror you wouldn't make that kind of statement but it just goes to show that we're once again going to get in the
way with Isreal and their war on terror.
If Rice lived in Isreal she wouldn't think like she does.

Does anyone think hamas or terrorist groups are going to calm down?

Maybe its time for it to get ugly. How long can a lid be kept on this volcano? Perhaps it's going to take some serious bloodletting for these people to finally get fed up with this 50-year war.

I'm getting sick of the Israelis and the Palestinians both. This war won't stop until the Israelis get out of all of the West bank and Gaza settlements that nobody in the world recognizes as legitimate anyway. Of course they say they will never do it.

This war won't stop until the Palestinians quit murdering people and give up their hopeless efforts to eliminate Israel. Of course, they say they will never do it.

Let them fight it out. At least until some sense sets in.

i agree 100%. there is nothing we can do to fix this. both sides are hellbent on killing each other, and claiming the "holy" land. i say let em fight until somebody wins.
