I heard a rumor that marcus randall was transferring to southern. this is not a reasonable source but just curious if anyone else has heard this.

I would like to see him transfer, and his brother did start at quarterback for Southern. I think this is just wishful thinking by somebody. Let's wait for a reliable source. If he did transfer, I wish the best for him.

I doubt it. The same thing was rumored last year, and with a strong performance in spring, Randall has a shot at starting. Also, that would leave the two freshman as the only quarterbacks on the roster, leaving us EXTREMELY thin at QB. For LSU's sake, I hope he doesn't, but I doubt this is true anyway.

Wait just a minute. I've had a couple glasses of wine and I have had it with all the randall bashing. I like this player and I think he had an excellent game against South Carolina and Arkansas last year. I'll agree, the auburn game was terrible and nothing looked pretty against bama either. But believe me, I wasn't singing any praises for mauck after vatech last year. Let's give the guy our support!

If he leaves, it would really suck because if JaMarcus or Matt Flynn starts and they get hurt or something goes wrong, he can bring a lot of experience into the game as a backup. Marcus Randall needs to stay. Would you rather play for LSU: 92,000 plus in Tiger Stadium and national champions, or Southern?

You really need to think about that post. Why not just let the other guys TRY to beat him out. Would you really like to have only 2 QB's on the roster? Let's see, there's spring practice where about 600 balls are thrown everyday, Fall practice, etc. Scout team QB's running plays during the season. Nope, don't think 2 QB's would cut it. 3 is not enough!!!

Why would anyone want him to transfer at the moment? We would have 2 QB's on the roster and have NO ONE with game experience.

Good for you. Before this season, except for the Florida game that Mauck got hurt in, I never thought Mauck would ever be a good QB either.

Randall is an exceptional athlete, probably the best pure athlete of the three QBs we have coming back. He has a strong arm, and if he can develop a touch on deep passes, he may end up as the surprise starter next year.

Remember the long run he had in the Cotton Bowl against Texas. Jimbo Fisher is good at developing QBs and Randall has a lot of raw ability to work with.

With Marquis Hill coming back, LSU may have an overpowering defense, maybe even better than this year's.

If Randall raises his play, and gets his fundamentals down better when throwing the ball--meaning better footwork--Saban may just go with the experienced QB at the start of next season.

How many other players, besides Randall, do you wish would transfer and why. None of the freshmen QBs have taken a snap in a game and they are already all american in some fans minds. Remember the South Carolina game last year. Randall can play he just could not carry the team with the weak defense we had in 2002.
I guess the DBs who gave up the pass completions late in the Arkansas game and gave up the long TDs in the Cotton Bowl should transfer also.
