What if Jefferson, also a true freshman, shocks the world? Well, we'll never know, I guess. And I think it's too early to tell what the future holds. Lee isn't improving AT ALL this season, so my hopes aren't too high on him anymore. Sheppard and Jefferson look to be the future. The defense's better days are ahead. I'm not jumping out of a window, but this year has been embarrassing.
Agree....Recruiting rules college football...if LSU continues bringing in classes like they have and probably will this year...if Les can't win with them then instead of hearing Les/LSU is winning with Saban's players. The World will say LSU and Coach______ is dominating with Les's players.
For that matter, take out the Georgia game too. We lost by 14, and they scored 14 DIRECTLY from his picks. Also, they scored another 3 on a drive that began with a Lee pick. So technically, without Lee's picks, we are 8-1...not 6-3.
As a team they still played bad against Gawga. Although Lee has sucked in every game this one is the only one that you can lay entirely at his feet.
Isn't it a little early to ask that question? Tebow is a special blend just as Terrelle Pryor is proving to be. Russell Shephard might be there but until he does it in college I wouldn't even dare ask that question. He also doesn't have the physical size that Tebow and Pryor have which is one of the things that sets them apart. They have extreme athletic ability AND they are freaks of nature.
The bandwagon left town after the UF loss why are you still here? I for one am proud of the way our Tigers played today. Lee isn't ready for these types of games yet, and it shows. The rest of the team played their hearts out, and so did Lee. This team will be on top and in the hunt next season. It is one thing for the press to bad mouth us for our down season, but when fans have no respect for their team it is an embarrasment. Almost all of the teams that have won a MNC have an off season the following yr. We are no different, and in reality we are a seasoned QB away from being a 1 loss team. Bottom line, yes this is the CLM era and has been for 4 seasons. We will continue to be one of the elite teams, but like everyone else we will have our down yrs every now and then.
Florida had 4 losses last year after they won the NC. I'm sure they had fans starting to doubt whether Urban Meyer knew what he was doing last year just like you are doubting Les Miles now. As for Texas, just looking at the last 5 years, they had three-loss seasons in 2003, 2006, and 2007. The three-loss season in 2006 was the season after they won the NC. As for Oklahoma, just looking at the last 5 years, they had three-loss seasons in 2006 and 2007, and they had a four-loss season in 2005 -- during which, they spent 11 weeks not even ranked in the AP Top 25 -- and that was the season after they played in the BCS NC game. As for USC, they lost to a 4-8 Stanford team last year, and a 7-6 UCLA team the year before that (which was the year after they played in the BCS NG game). Relax, LSU is in just as good as shape as USC, OU, UT or UF. As for your worries about talent, relax. Miles is doing just as great in recruiting as Saban did: Average star rankings per player according to Rivals Miles 2009 - 3.83 (#2 in nation -- so far) 2008 - 3.58 (#9 in nation) 2007 - 3.88 (#2 in nation) 2006 - 3.64 (#4 in nation) 2005 - 3.69 (#4 in nation) Saban 2004 - 3.54 (#6 in nation) 2003 - 3.68 (#3 in nation) 2002 - 3.23 (#16 in nation) As for the QB situation this year, yes, it sucks. After we got JR and Flynn, we only recruited one QB in three years, and then he got kicked off the team. We all knew we would suck at QB this season. But the future at QB looks good. Other than Lee, we have Jefferson, and two more QB's on the way in the 2009 class -- Russell Shepard and Chris Garrett. Geaux Tigers! :LSU231:
