Okay, first of all, Obama and Patterson are both fair-skinned black people, so going to a guy who fits the skin color isn't racist. It would be stupid to see Wesley Snipes get up there and play Obama. C'mon! And secondly, I guess if you are blind, it is not okay to mimic you. You get a pass. Patterson, a nincompoop, was a replacement for another, but you can't make fun of him... he's blind. How is Darrell Hammond dressing up in semi-black face to impersonate Jesse Jackson, or Amy Poehler acting as a disgusting one legged woman any different from a guy playing a blind person? Maybe I'm just a jerk. Maybe I've become so jaded by political incorrectness, but this country has become so overly concerned with not wanting to hurt anyone's feelings. Many stores have stopped saying "Christmas"; it's now holidays. We can't say "retarded" because now it's "mentally challenged." We can't say "fat" because now it's "horizontally challenged" or something. I'm sure it's coming. Kids don't know who Mr. Magoo is anymore. I guess Porky Pig is insensitive to those with a speech impediment, and Sylvester the Cat is insensitive to those with a lisp. SNL was making fun of a politician, not Hellen Keller or Ray Charles.
I watched it. The best part of the whole thing was him roaming "off-set" but in front of the camera during the rest of the skit. Very well done. Gerald Ford falling into the Christmas Tree. Bill Clinton doing practically anything and everything. Bush and Cheney. It's what Saturday Night Live has been doing for decades. Frankly, as the focus pulls away from Bush, the looney left is going to moan more and more about this stuff. Wait until Obama does something stupid. They're going to lose their minds.
The US is full of hissy-fit sissies. I didn't see the skit, but I can imagine people getting all hot and bothered over nothing. And FYI, Republicans are not innocent.
Inappropriate or not who cares? If you don't like it don't watch. I would never attempt to tell others what they can and can't watch and no one should be able to do the same to me. It's too bad we have such a large group in this country that are so concerned about what everyone else is doing.
Absolutely not. But if anyone has watched Letterman or Leno or SNL for the last 10 or so years, the majority of the jokes are about Republicans. Hopefully with the Whitehouse shifting into Democrat control, that will change at least a little to even things out a bit. Considering who is in Obama's cabinet, it shouldn't be too hard.
I thought the skit was funny, that is all. I'm not arguing about the political side of it, I'll let you guys spew the crap about whats what, such experts.
Too many people getting offended over every little thing now. Like Bandit said, SNL has made fun of just about every president for the past 30 years. People are way too thin-skinned when it comes to humor nowadays. But noticed, usually, the ones that whine about being made fun of are the same ones that will make jokes about another group. This guy should be more worried about the unrest that is going to happen if all of his tax plans go into effect. That should be much more pressing that what a marginal comedy show is doing.
This just struck a nerve with me. This has been the biggest gripe I have had for the longest time. I'm normally a pretty calm guy but when someone starts talking about getting butt-hurt over something trivial and so freaking insignificant and far-reaching, it makes me want to punch a baby holding a kitten right in the mouth. PC is the worst thing to happen to this country in the history of the world. I am the only person in the office that decorated their workspace for Christmas. Everyone knows that if they walk by and tell me "Happy Holidays" I am going to hulk out and rip my computer out of the wall for the sole purpose of smashing their teeth out with it. Either celebrate Christmas or don't celebrate it. Don't try to change the definition of it. Go make up your own stupid holiday celebrating the birth of Lord Zenu or something. Grow some balls America. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ahhhhh, that's better. Back to normal now.
nbc doesnt allow their snl clips to be broadcast away from their site, hence it was removed. its hard to find the good stuff on that show since its few and far between anyhow. i found that out when dick in the box took awhile to find long ago.
