Is there a reason Russelll didn't play?

I did not read the game thread so my apologies if this was discussed there. After 3 crucial interceptions, why wasn't Russell (or Flynn for that matter) given PT? Is there something going on that I haven't heard about?

nothing has been said really about it. I am going to assume that Saban just wanted to stay with one QB tonight.

he is being sorta weird lately in some of his moves. Benched JV for fumbling (JV had 1 carry for 1 yard tonight). Benched Ally B for fumbling tonight once (5 carries for 2 yards), and Jamarcus did not play at all tonight (all the pics against Florida last week costing us points).

I will be interested to see who starts at QB next week honestly, as well as at RB after the crappy performances at both positions tonight.

I don't know, Flynn got in but only threw one pass.

Still, MR threw the game winning pass. We might have played poorly, but we still won the game. Considering MR didn't play Troy all by himself I'm not going to single any one player out. He did throw 3 INTs though, but since I was watching the game over a Yahoo Gametracker thing, I have no idea if they were poor reads, bad weak passes, or tipped passes. Doesn't really matter, we won the game.

I'd assume Russell not playing might have something to do with practices or what the coaches are seeing on the field. If he was ready, Saban would have had him out there.

two of the interceptions were his fault bad decision One was just a dahm good Defensive play for Troy.

Nick is saying right now on the interview...... that if you can't run the ball then you put all the game on the QB. not a good scenario

    Just an observation....
It may be that EVEN the talented jamarcus cant single handedly block the other team without a O line and throw the ball too. :dis:

Flynn's one pass was as the holder on a fake FG. He didnt get in at QB at all.

Russell did not play. We are saving him so we can relive this experience again next year. Haven't we had a new starter at quarterback every year since Saban has been here.

Thanks, I was watching the game on a stat-tracker thing so I had no idea if Flynn played QB . . . just that he threw a completed pass. Thanks
