Which is exactly why I don't see them beating us this year. We were never in that game last year. And TTU showed that they were last year as they always have been. Just not quite good enough to play with the big boys. Shula's Bama team beat them one year in the Cotton Bowl, too.
The talent is there but with this dude, you just never know. Without a safety net, Nutt is dangerous. I just don't think he is a danger to the top 5 but still a danger to us as well as the West. Their schedule is fairly cake, so I think they are fighting for a top ten/ fifteen.
this is the case again. he folds as a favorite. i think they are top 5 in the conference but certainly not the country. this makes him a perfect fit for Ole Myth. They will fold like a cheap suit once all the pressure is on them once again but this time, its post-manning. and it will be a spectacular collapse.
My sentiments exactly. The inability to handle success isn't limited to their fans. I hope the west comes down to us vs them in 2003, because there is no way they beat us this year. The defense seems to have adapted to Chavis' system very quickly and effectively...and they will only get better.
Ole Miss hasn't been relevant in the SEC in nearly 40 years, right? I mean, 2003 "Year of the Eli" was their best chance in that span--and we, fortunately, dashed it for them, even after Mauck gifted them a pick six to open the contest. They are just one-year removed from an 0-fer SEC campaign. We are just one-year removed from a NC. Who're you gonna pick?
mauck was a game-manager who never made mistakes which enabled us to win a nc. easy on the name-calling.
When is the last time ole siss finished in the top 5? You can bet the house the streak continues. A good year for ole myth is finishing in the top 25 and I don't see things changing anytime soon. Yes they have some talent, but a goof for a coach and very little depth. Look for ole siss to have a banner year and end the season around #22. Ole miss fans will be celebrating this high finish like back to back national championships. Get ready to party Oxfart, your once in a decade rise to your glass ceiling is on the horizon.
When it comes to Ole Miss, all I care about is whether or not they lose to LSU. Objectively, they are a solid team with all the tools to compete for a while in the SEC. They could very well be top-5 worthy when it's all said and done DESPITE recent history. That's why we play the games! And OSU is not a top-five team. Sorry. Not even sure if they're top-5 SEC material.
