I know that you've probably all read the same things. But there are tons of rumors going around in Starkville and on the Miss State message boards that Jimbo Fisher is going to be the next head coach. I'm not ready to believe any rumor, just yet, but I do recognize that as a strong possibility.

That said...do you think that JFisher is ready for a big time job (okay, right now many don't think MSU is a big time job, but you know that there's potential there if the "right" person comes along.) Is he ready to take the reigns of the entire program? What type of job do you think he'd do being the public figure, in front of the cameras and being quoted a lot as a head coach? Is he firey or reserved? Is he a motivator?

What's your take on him as a head guy? Good luck the rest of the season.

    In short yes.

Look at LSU's offensive production over the last 3 years. Look at Rohan-Reed. Mauck's progression and on and on. MSU would be wrestling a good coach away. I hope he isnt going this soon.

Jimbo can do a lot better than having to recruit players to live in Stark Vegas if he holds out for a better offer.

But do you think he has what it takes to be a head guy, Starkville or not?

Who knows? Some very good assistants in the past have been failures as a head coach but Fisher comes from a football family. His brother Jeff is head coach of the Tennessee Titans. I think that Jimbo would be an excellent head coach for whichever team is lucky enough to get him.

Jimbo is going to be a head coach somewhere soon. A first head coach job in a major conference like the SEC may be jumping into deep water, remember Mike Archer. But he will likely end up as a major school coach.

Jimbo can damn sure coach offense. On things like his character, style, recruiting ability, and ambition, we will just have to see him as head coach to know.

Yes. Also, remember he had a pretty good string of Auburn QBs he developed, not just here at LSU.

I hope Jimbo doesn't go to State....that would be awful. I want Jimbo to do awesome wherever he goes (if it goes), and I just can't see myself pulling for State

Jimbo will be a HC and very soon. He has the right personality, is great with players, is terrific at x&o - I just wish he would go somewhere other than our own division! Worst thing about losing Jimbo? He recruits his ass off! That'll hurt LSU.
