It's no better on punt return yardage defense (#73) and kickoff return yardage defense (#40). Last years numbers are equally dismal.
I could be wrong about this, but I don't think any college teams have a coach just for special teams. There are a limited number of coaches that a team can have and I believe everybody assigns special teams to one of the position coaches, or, like Virginia Tech, the head coach handles it.
