Is it just me or is LSU still not getting respect. Here is my case: Two weeks ago LSU was #3 and I believe Georgia was #4. Georgia blows out Georgia Southern by 20. We struggle with a good team in Or.State. Come from behind on a sloppy field and win. We drop in the polls basically switching places with the Georgia. This past week Georgia barely gets by South Carolina ( I think Or.State could beat So Car.). We blow out Ark State., and we don't jump them. To me that is no respect for LSU. None the less I like it when we are underestimated. Big up! :lsug:
Sorry man...Not buying this argument. I am tired of hearing about it. We barely beat a middle of the road team and blew out a team that ULL has scheduled for homecoming. Georgia beat a couple of decent teams, both better than either team we played and one of those games were on the road. Who really cares if we are 4th, 5th, or 6th. It doesn't matter at this time of the year. ONE GAME AT A TIME! If we win, everything else will take care of itself.
I agree, I'm tired of hearing the complaining and bitching as well. It's starting to sound like an AU or SC forum. We are ranked in the top 10, win out and everything DOES take care of itself. Would it make anyone feel better if we were ranked 1 or 2, with all the pressure that it carries during the season? As it is now we will be getting every team's best performance looking to take down last year's BCS champ. We do get to play GA on the field, if we win that game and don't move up, then I can understand the complaining. Until then I think we should be happy to be included in the college football elite. I don't know how much more respect LSU can get, we will be entering the 4th week of college football next weekend with LSU playing in it's 2nd featured Gameday broadcast.
I concur on each point you made here, but just wanted to drop a little FYI on the GameDay thing. They moved it to Notre Dame.
Thank you guys! Finally someone around here that is just as tired of the complaining about lack of respect. Respect will come with steady winning. Give it a rest. :dis: LSU GET'S PLENTY OF RESPECT.
It's obvious that just like last year we will have to play without the respect of the media which can be irritating but is just fine with me. It was used as motivation for the players last year and will be again this year. I'm more interested with how I think the team is playing rather than what some suck butt like Trev Alberts thinks. Remember when he still thought Gawga was the best team in the SEC? The crystal ball is what we want not the respect of a bunch of talking heads that are wrong just as often as they are right.:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
It's not necessarily the lack of respect, it's just that the media doesn't have their heads up our arses like they do Notre Dame or USC... but then again, there are some morons out there like Trev Alberts.
Any team that loses it's starting QB is going to lose media respect until the new QB proves himself. Neither QB has done that yet against good competition.
I just saw that thread (about Gameday moving to MichSt/ND) after I posted. Either way, we had 2 games that didn't make it to national TV last season, I assume that ArkSt was the only one this year that will not be nationally televised (although there is a long shot that Vandy and Troy won't be on national TV). So, I think we are getting plenty of respect. Can a team ranked in the top 10 complain about not getting respect?
I just wanted to get some other opinions on this topic. I agree LSU has to worry about what it has control over the games they play. I think it is a distraction to the players to worry about what they are ranked. I like it when people underestimate LSU. All I was saying is that LSU is not as respected as they should be. USC struggled there first game and Georgia struggled with SC and did not drop I guess I am putting to much value on the rankings so early in the season. Ranked in the top 10 is showing respect I give ya that. Thanks for everyone's comments. I like the way all the LSU fans come forward to defend our Beloved Tigers. Lets just hope Ivan go away so we can have a good dry game. BIG UP!
