I'm a little worried about the seeming lack of depth on the offensive line for this coming season, especially at the tackle position with the loss of Zhamal Thomas and Kyle Anderson. Carnell Stewart is new to the position and there looks to be not much depth at all behind him. Supposedly Herman Johnson was tried at Tackle but to slow of foot speed for the position. Robert Smith and Mark Snyder are listed as the top backups at the position. Are they ready to step in if needed? Any true freshman that might be ready to start if needed? Has anyone been moved from guard or center to the position? What if Will Arnould is unable to play? I hear he is questionable. Lyle Hitt has come on and could step in. But is there quality depth behind him at guard? Hopefully I'm just fretting over nothing.
We're short on experienced depth. We have guys there, they just aren't proven in game conditions. Losing youngsters Thomas and Anderson did not cost us experienced depth, but it did make us thinner.
We absolutely lack depth. It is my 2nd biggest concern for our team heading into the season (behind our passing game). Our starting line up looks to be pretty good, but behind that is very questionable. I think it is more than a lack of "experienced depth" as Red says, but also a lack of talent because the drop-off from 1st to 2nd string appears to be qute substantial. I don't think McCoy qualified, and he would've been important for depth as an OT. Jarvis Jones is going to be a good one but he needs to get in shape, as well as Josh D - neither are ready to be starters in the SEC. T-Bob will redshirt.
