Heard rumors he was in Saban's doghouse and he was close to gone is this true, has anybody else heard this
Took it long enough to break here. I heard Friday he was going to transfer. Had primarily to do with him being #4 on the depth chart. Our RB corps is looking pretty thin now with Addai moved to WR.
Barrington Edwards was ranked higher coming out of High School then any other back on the LSU Roster. When he came to LSU he told Saban he did not want to Redshirt this is one of the reason Saban found places for him to play. I feel that LSU will go on but we are losing a great back the size the speed the ability to turn a sweep up the field on the corner was awesome. Barrington Edwards will transfer if this is true and become one of the top running backs in the Country. Good LUCK Barrington.
The spring roster shows Broussard, Spadoni, Vincent, Ledgister, Edwards as RB. If Addai is a WR now (like the Roster says and you have stated) how can BA be 4th on the depth chart. If he is #4 I can't way to see this Ledgister cat run.
Barrington Edwards was in Saban's doghouse, but then again, he wasn't... From what Crawfish told me during the season, the staff loves his toughness and his swagger, but there is a logjam, and sometimes, it translated into a spoiled arrogancy. This is by no means a shot at the kid, from what I've seen, he has the potential to be the best back on the team. Crawfish pointed this out, and I see it to, when you look at this kid's highlights: I've never seen him fall anything but forward. You always see him fall forward. Delivering the blow. It's intangible, but he's got it. I've seen Vincent, Broussard, Carey and Addai all bounced on their butts, but never Edwards. He always falls down going forward. It's almost uncanny. I think his enthusiasm for seeing the field, and his work ethic towards proving he's as good as he says he is, will be an asset. I haven't heard any rumors, but it's an easy one to put out there considering how he's a more "vocal" member of the running back corp, and he's prone to mix it up from time to time...
2004 1. Vincent So 2. Broussard So 3. Carey Sr 4. Edwards So 5. Spadoni Jr 6. (Addai) 2005 1. Vincent Jr 2. Broussard Jr 3. Edwards So 4. Spadoni Sr 5. Robinson Fr I was hoping that Edwards would redshirt for a year. That way next year, he would be the third RB at worst, but he would have a year to himself as a senior to be the feature back. Plus, Vincent may leave after his junior year, which would move Edwards up to second as a junior. And, then there is always the injury factor. It would be a disappointment if he transferred, but it would open a scholarship, which there is always another stud waiting for in the Saban Era. If he transfers, I guess we see if Spadoni can be the fourth RB this season. If he can't, they give Addai more time than they planned at RB in practice as an insurance policy. Spadoni was a four star recruit out of high school. He may surprise us.
Broussard needs to be at Full back and the two backs need to be Vincent and Edwards and cary needs to come in as a scat back or 3rd down option back.
Per Today's Dandy Don In football news at LSU, Barrington Edwards is no longer a member of the LSU football program according to very reliable information and according to a report from a Baton Rouge TV station. I did not see the report, but I was told two weeks ago that Edwards was skating on thin ice and would likely not be a part of the 2004 LSU team.
