This is one thread I wouldn't mind hijacking. I'd be very surprised if the expression were as young as the 1920s. I'd also be surprised if the expression were "butt-naked." The expression was in common use when I was growing up in the 1940s and I never heard "butt-naked" until perhaps 30-35 years ago. Also, I heard the term expressed as "naked as a buck," Indians being regarded as usually lightly clothed. When I was a kid there was still a lot of prejudice against native americans as well as blacks (at least in north Alabama), and it was common to refer to males as "bucks." When I started to college at Bama in 1957, it confused me to hear other students, from south Alabama, occasionally refer to black males as "bucks." Either way, I think it's hard to torture much meaning out of "butt-naked."
Sweet. Love that bar! Actually I can't wait to get back to Perdido Key. Lucky SOB to live there! :thumb:

How many fans would actually show up if they couldn't wear their cut off blue jean shorts and their wife beater t-shirts?
[Southern Comfort Movie: [FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Arial,Helvetica,Sans-serif,sans-serif][SIZE=-1]“Coach Saban said that at the moment, we were like the National Guardsmen in the movie and the rest of the SEC were those pissed off Cajuns. He said that if we didn't come together as a team and dedicate ourselves to winning, we would get our asses kicked just like those National Guardsmen."] What's his obsession with us Cajun people?
