I know everyone has read it in the paper about Jimbo getting an agent. Saban has said he doesn't deter assistants from moving up, but who would replace Fisher? Our play calling I think, has been exceptional.

It is true that quarterbacks playing for Fisher has improved each year they are under his tutelage. The Auburn quarterbacks went from mediocre to outstanding.
Josh Booty, Rohan Davey, and now Matt Mauck, after one year, went from average to outstanding. All made a case for All SEC Quarterback.

However, Coach Saban has shown that he can select outstanding coaches. I suspect that several of the young coaches on the staff will be Head Coaches before their careers are over.

If Fisher leaves Saban will bring in another diamond to lead the Tiger Quarterbacks.

Honestly, I don't think Fisher is going anywhere. Not this year at least. He will leave one day for a head coaching job, maybe soon...Just not this year. I think he is a hot, hot young coaching commodity. But he is only 38 this year and I think he will stay here for another year or two...

It seems like a good problem to have. Everyone wanting our coaches instead of everyone laughing at our coaches.

I don't mind if he leaves to move up to take a Head Coach spot....but, just don't go to Miss. St...IMO that would be a step down!!

This may be the year for Jimbo. A man starts paying an agent when he needs somebody to represent him in job negotiations. He doesn't need an agent to be the OC at LSU.

Schools like State don't have the fan base or athletic dept. dollars to hire a top-tier coach for $1.5 million. They will likely be looking for an up-and-coming young coach like Jimbo Fisher who is willing to work for $750,000. Getting a first head-coaching job in a major conference like the SEC would be hard for Jimbo to pass up. Except . . .

    1. State may be going on probation and that could discourage a man like Jimbo who will have other opportunities.

    2. If Jimbo thinks that Nick is leaving soon, he might stick around and try to get the inside track on the LSU head coaching job. Long-shot perhaps, but if he takes us to the SECCG again and a possible NC game, his stock will be high.

If Jimbo leaves, and I hope he doesn't, look for Saban's old friend to cross the "state" line. It will be Morris Watts. He wanted to come with Saban from Mich St, but we couldn't match his lifelong health policy. He was a great OC while he was here with DiNardo. We averaged over 30 pts a game, but Loser Tepper couldn't stop anyone from rolling up 40!! If Jimbo goes, Morris will step in and we won't miss a beat.

That's a good point. If MSU hires an offensive coach as head coach, I think Watts will be out of a job. If they go with a defensive guy, think smart thing to do would be to keep him around. If Jimbo should go to MSU, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Watts come to LSU. The thing that worries me is that MSU will be looking to hire a coach between the end of the season and bowl season to get a jump on recruiting. If it is indeed Jimbo, we could possibly be without our offensive coordinator for the bowl game.
