Man this really looks like Tenn vs LSU all over again. Nobody is talking about Oregon St and nobody was talking about LSU in 2001. Tenn was on its way to the Rose and the National Championship just like USC is. Nobody gave LSU a shot and nobody is giving Oregon St a shot.

    Just an observation

DeafValleyBatnR is dead on correct. I live in LA and all you hear is how SC is going to tear up Okla's defense. No one out here is concerned about Ore St at all. Some of it is over confidence (From the fans, I have no idea what the coaches/players think . . . though they are saying all the right things in the papers) and some of it is that Ore St hasn't won in LA in since the 60's.

The one thing a trasnplanted Tiger fan in LA can count on, is that everyone in the area has been back patting these boys all bye week. The last time SC had a bye week, they lost to Cal (it was on the road). SC has a lot of pressure to deal with this week. Ore St will not give the game away, and how will they perform after 2 weeks of constant praise. Also, according to SC fans . . . these players haven't had to play more than 1 and 1/2 quarters all season, so they just might play flat if Ore St jumps ahead early.

USC could start their 2nd string and beat OSU in LA. The bye week means nothing in this instance. Just more time for USC to get ready and TCB. USC knows full well they have to win to get to the Sugar. That is their singular goal, purpose and focus right now. Notre Dame will not lose to the Orangemen. Willinghams will will not allow that.

Also, ND has additional motivation that has gotten no national press>>>>>If Notre Dame loses then Michigan passes them for all-time winning %. Michigan already has the most wins and the % thing is of great pride to ND. It's all they have left from their days of glory.

The only way LSU goes to the Sugar is if we beat Georgia AND the AP/ESPN polls move us to 2.

    But we already knew that.

    LSU wasn't a 21 point U-dog to Tennessee.

But, stranger things have happened in College FB.

No reason OSU can't play a great game and keep it close.

Yeah, but Ore. State isn't going anywhere. LSU ended up in the Sugar. If Ore. State beats USC, they get nothing for it. They are still going to the Las Vegas Bowl, win or lose.

In Oregon, it looks as though the fans have given up on the team, but many will still make the trip to Vegas so that they can go to a real gambling mecca and not some funky Indian casino. Riley was even laughing about facing USC. I don't think he thinks he can win. The only people in Oregon that think that the Beavers can win is the Beavers themselves. Gotta hand it to these kids. Many of them are So.Cal. natives and will be playing in front of friends and family and against a school that rejected them. If the OSU QB can have a decent game, then OSU has a shot. But this QB is really streaky, so it is hard to predict who will show up for this game. Stephen Jackson is just a bad-ass rb who could torch USC on the ground. The potential is there, but I just don't see Ore. State pulling it off. :(

Southern Cal could lose the game. It could happen. But, it would be the upset of the year.

    Don't bet the farm.

Yeah, the Trojans are getting up for this game but the Beavers seem to be really tight lipped.

The Beavers defense hasn't been too good and I look for the Trojans to pound the soft middle early and often.

The Beavers better tighten up if they want to stop the Trojans from penetrating their red zone. The last thing anybody wants is another Trojan blowout. On the other hand, I seriously doubt the Trojans can go at it for a full 60 minutes.

The Beavers are definitely going to get creamed.

I for one would like to see the Beavers on top.
